The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
When you visit, the museum doors are just to the right of the church. The church is wonderful, see it first then go to the museum. There's plenty of wonderful things to see on the ground floor, but don't miss what's waiting for you upstairs. It's our favorite museum.
I thought I'd be interested in a museum for mosaics, but I had no idea how blown away I'd be by the beauty and appreciation for the skill and time it must take to produce these marvelous pieces. For some reason, I assumed this would be of floor mosaics and more religious themes, but it was so different. This was...
We kind of just happened upon this spot but it was grand to visit. Not open to go inside but outside was informative.Writings and statues gave some history of the orphanage, but they only took newborns, the foundling orphanage.

I went there in April. Found this place with tripadvisor. We asked for a table but unfotunately the place was fully booked. They proposed us to sit at the counter and that changed our dinner. There was more space and the owners were very friendly and interactive. We ordered a tagliere of drunk cheeses and salumi, a bottle of Chianti...
What a great place. We found this through tasteatlas and gave it a try. Amazing!
Ordered the Parpadelle with Wild boar ragú and the Bean Soup (Ribollita). That soup is out of this world!
For dessert , a Nutella filled cake.
Service was great and super fast.
The house wine is super cheap too!

We came here on the second night of our trip to Firenze, not quite sure what to expect. It was one of the highlights of our time here. The staff were friendly, helpful, polite, passionate about the food they were serving and interested in making sure we had a great time.
Despite what we actually ordered, course after course of...
This place made me so happy! The sandwiches were delicious, we tried 3 of them. The one with truffle paste was the best, I could have eaten 10! The atmosphere is delicious, very good music, happy staff, it felt like having lunch with friends! Too bad we spent so little time I'm Florence, I can't wait to come back! Ciao!
Another Stay at the Four Seasons Firenze and another excellent service... The service and staff was beyond great and the counceige deserved an A+ in couping with all of our travel plans in all over Italy. Although Firenze is full of nice food around the city, but you do need to try the hotel's restaurant which is in a higher...
Wonderful experience staying at Grand Amore. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. They are willing to give you the extra so that you are comfortable there. The rooms are well decorated, clean and pleasant.
Really nice hotel. Very central. We could walk to all the main attractions. The staff were very helpful and informative, and they changed our room without quibbling. A bar would have been nice - it was being refurbished. Breakfast great.
This hotel was beautiful, it seemed like it was out of a museum. The stairwell up the the rooms, the high ceilings, crown molding, breakfast area, it was in pristine shape. The location was a bit out of the way, but was completely worth it for how beautiful this hotel was. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want...
I am so glad we chose to stay at the San Gallo Palace. It was my first time in Florence so I didn't know what to expect but the hotel exceeded all expectations! The hotel was gorgeous with clean rooms that were large, and we had an awesome patio. The hotel staff were all so wonderful and the concierge Gianmarco...
