With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
Absolutely incredible, really enjoyed seeing this museum in real life, the 4th largest church in the world. It seems it is always under construction, but worth the visit. It’s busy so pre booking your tickets is advisable and a tour guide is really helpful and interesting to know the history.
The best part of this visit was standing on the balcony overlooking Bosphorus. A very beautiful view specially on a cloudy day. We also tried taking pictures of us dressing as the Sultan and his wife ! It is usually very busy even on weekdays. there are rooms with artifacts such as dishes, crowns, weapons, etc. I liked it more...
Very exciting site. This was once the water reservoar for the palace. 9800 square meter, and 9 meters to the ceiling. The two Medusa figures, one upside down and the other sideways are a mystery. Now one knows excactly from where they are collected.

We have just been for a fab meal, the fish was heavenly and the steak cooked to perfection. Above all the hospitality was second to none. If you are in istanbul you will find nowhere better to spend a few hours, we will be back.
We booked the White House Hotel based on the large number of positive reviews here and it was a great decision. The location is perfect for sightseeing, about 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque, a bit more to Topkapi and the Grand Bazaar. The hotel itself is really nice, the room was very comfortable with all...

My husband and I stayed at Dersaadet Hotel Istanbul for three nights in May. We had the best time at the hotel as they treated us with utmost courtesy, care and friendliness.
We felt we were well taken care of by all their staff members, including the receptionists who answered our never-ending questions about the places to eat and visit...
