Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
My son is a lifelong devotee of Kimchi. We absolutely had to visit this museum. (Who would guess there would be a museum devoted exclusively to Kimchi? But there is in Seoul!) Very interesting with several activities for children to participate in. There is even a large kitchen where they offer Kimchi making courses for children and adults. So many...
As others have said tricky to find. Use google earth to help and zoom right in to pinpoint it. IBK is a big building to look for! It also has ‘the tea company’ with ‘beautiful tea room’ in smaller letters underneath. It is in Insadong-gil, road 19, house 11.
The tea choice is brilliant and the waitress pours your water,...
Not sure on how to initially react when I saw this place. It was odd but fun for young kids especially when eveything your child say is “poop”... hahaha! This place was hard to find, I saw it while I was walking around Insadong. The entrance is not bad, the inside is full of rubber poop in different colors and...
They offer very nice green tea cake and tea from Jeju. The cafe is very nice to sit too especially during the winter. They also offer nice souvenir to bring back home for friends such as green tea chocolate, green tea cake and many more. I always visit them whenever I go to Seoul and would highly recommend this place.
Chose this place based on the reviews below and was not disappointed. The seating area is very small and crowded, so go to the takeaway line instead - you will be served very quickly. The dumplings are heavenly.
It is so hard to find a place with a nice scenery to relax in the city area. This traditional Korean tea house offers that! Moreover, they also offer a wide variety of authentic tea selections for you to enjoy while immersing in the beautiful scenery.
This was a clean and convenient hotel if you want to stay in the Insadong area. It is steps away from the main street for shopping, restaurant, shops, taxis, supermarkets, and street food. There is a free laundry room at the basement. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Had breakfast here only one day and they give you a...
After a exhausting haul flight we arrived at the hotel and we were delighted by the free room upgrade. Orakai has been one of the best aparthotel ive stayed in.
suite very spacious
very good locaction, maybe 30 meters from main insadong street
Next time i would definitely stay here again with my family.
I recommend this hotel. It's in central Seoul, very close to the a few points of interest. The room was always cleaned, the employees were very nice and friendly. There's a little coffee shop in the hotel, they have numerous drinks and nice local pastries and it's quite cheap in comparison to the local coffee shops chains.
Pros: convenient location, walking distance to sights, museums, temples, palaces, metro. Bus from Incheon stops right in front of hotel. Very attentive and helpful English speaking front staff. Pretty good selection at breakfast buffet.
Very reasonable price for a hotel in Seoul. The toilet bidet features are great (warm toilet seat, auto flushes). Has good size ref. Free bottled water...
My boyfriend and I only had two days in Seoul, therefore we packed our days with touristy things and we were barely in the hotel. This hotel was PERFECT for just that. I wouldn't have wanted to spend too much time in the hotel itself. It was by no means "luxurious" or even "homey." Just very basic. Kinda dirty to...
