One of the best museums that I have ever seen, if not the best. I made my reservation online which they call it “skip the line “ and it was very convenient. You will be confused to whether enjoy the architecture of the museum which was earlier the winter palace of the royal family, or the arts which were presented...
The General Staff Building is facing the Winter Palace / Hermitage and is filled with 18-20th century art including Renoir, Pizarro, Picasso, Monet, Manet, Degas, Van Gogh.
Note: Tickets allow only one entry per day, and the coffee shop is before the ticket door, so once you go it, you are in.

For those who can afford it, Xander is a great place for a designer cocktail and a snack, conveniently located at the Lion Palace hotel. Their version of the Moscow Mule was quite tasty and innovative.

"Last century Russian atmosphere"
reviewed 2 days ago by Mina B
Went there for a late lunch and spent the afternoon there. Delicious Russian food, most pleasant waitresses all in same last century Russian dress, excellent service, Russian classical music in the background, exquisite Russian classic decoration. A trip in itself!
I believe there is no need to say much about Four Seasons standards but this place is exceptional. Perfect location, historic building with nice decors and beautiful views, good SPA, the best restaurants and the bar. So, you can find it at many places. At that place there is a team which is making that hotel very special. I’d like...
Great ambiance, quality sleep, nice toiletries and cosmetics. They had room service twice a day, morning and evening. The restaurant and the bar were both great. At the bar they bring you complimentary snacks (nuts, chips, olives) with a beer.I highly recommend their breakfast bread basket. It is nice to have the smell of out-of-oven baked goodies in the room.
The hotel is located in 5 minutes walk to the heart of Saint-Petersburg. In the same time it is on quite quiet street. Very nice decorations inside the hotel and in the rooms. Good breakfast and polite staff. It was a very good stay in this hotel.
