Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
"You really haven’t seen Rio til you’ve seen the redeemer"

Of course, the Christ Redeemer is the biggest and most popular attraction in Rio and with good cause. You really will not see anything quite like it anywhere else. It is 1 of the 7 wonders of the world. I advise others to book through a tourism agency to skip the long queue and get cheaper prices though.

Guided tours will take you here, but I did it by public transport. Buses 006 and 007 run from the city, bus 507 runs from outside Largo do Machado Metro station - all go to Silvestre and are very frequent. Get off at the road junction before the bus terminus - you'll see the guardhouse and the entrance to the...
Me and my family went to the visitor center by car to get a van for a ride to cristo redentor. There should be a real parking space for visitors! Also, more signs for newcomers should be installed on the road.
Old style pub. Decoration reminds a local minimarket of the 60's where local residents could buy food. Fried starters were tasty (fried codfish snack recommneded), cold beer and a place out of main avenue. With a short walk you can get the trolley to go back to Lapa.
Beautiful property...loved the location in artsy Santa Teresa. The staff/ helpful and friendly and the restaurant was the BEST . The 5 course wine pairing dinner with local products was a treat. We had a lovely room with a terrace facing the garden.....
1) lovely neighbourhood with alot of character, and food places near by
2) alot of lovrly touchea - table tennis table, fooseball table and the swings
3) very clean
4) the people there are very polite and nice. SPECIAL thank you to Sidma who really went above and beyond to help with any issues. We were given rooms on...
The Vila St. Theresa is a unique place to stay in that you feel as if you are a guest in someone’s elegant mid century modern house rather than a guest at a hotel. Once there you have one of the most magnificent views of Rio and the Guanabara Bay that I have seen. It rivals what I saw from...
I had to go to a Brazilian bank to wire money as they would not take a card payment for the reservation. On arrival there is no signage on the exterior of the building so it was hard for taxi driver to find. We arrived early and we were allowed to have breakfast for and additional cost. We were staying...
Good hotel on Lapa with modern and large room. New pool on last floor with one of the few swimup bar on Rio, Lapa and Selaron escaladeira only few steps away. Breakfast complete on the average and restaurant with many plates and cheap. A tour with old tramway on Santa Teresa is a must. Cheap for the quality
