Visit Vila Madalena by day for its galleries and alternative stores. Visit by night for a busy nightlife scene with numerous bars and cafes. There is a nice variety of restaurants, featuring many vegetarian and organic options. Every Saturday, Vila Madalena's main streets close for a big street market where you can find fresh vegetables and fruits for sale along with crafts. In the summer rainy season, the streets can flood, but that doesn’t take away from the sparkle of this unique area.

There is no better pub in Vila Madalena to get together with friends while drinking cold beer and snacking local finger food. The service is terrific, with the most friendly waiters you will ever meet. Try the palm core empanada and tell me what you think about that.
Brazil has what is called comida de boteco. Small dishes, almost like tapas. Bar do Juarez excels in these type of dishes . Pleasant place for happy hour or any time after 5:00pm. Open very late into the night.

Family and friends place, located in the bohemian neighborhood of Vila Madalena, traditional argentinian churrasco, very charming seats on an open space in the 1st floor.
