While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
I visited the Bund by day and at night - both times I was overwhelmed by the bustle and beauty of Beijing. If you get the chance, take a stroll up and down the Bund - enjoy the views of the buildings, as well as the people watching (you're bound to see a wedding shoot or two).
Awesome. Shanghai's waterfront is awesome. Maybe the best one in the world. This mixture of buildings and architectonical styles is absolutely enticing. Just walk around and try to have a look from very different point of views
Take the metro to Peoples’ Square and take a walk down Nanjing Lu to the Bund as it’s a great place for people watching, shopping and eating.
Be aware this (and the Bund) is Scam Central. I don’t think pick pocketing and phone snatching is a big problem here but this can happen in any crowded place so take sensible...

reviewed 2 weeks ago by ADDKS
I would say this is the best place you can visit or spend time in the evening to not only watch the Shanghai Skyline but also "Best Place for evening walk with your girlfriend, wife or partner". The view of Skyline from here is just mind Blowing. If you want you can also hire or rent Boat Cruise to Huangpu...
I had been seeing for the past couple month pictures of the food being done and prepared in this restaurant. Every time it was a mouth watering experience. I suddenly found out that you could order and get delivery ... which is great because I rarely go to the bund and as much as i like good italian food, i'm...
Earlier tonight I decided to visit Goodfellas restaurant in Shanghai on the Bund. I went solo and called for a 6pm reservation. "Sure no problem" said the voice on the phone so I walked across from my hotel and entered the restaurant. I was immediately greeted by my first name, I guessed since I was the only solo reservation, and...
"Could be The Best Accommodation Experience in China, Seriously "

I just had an one-night stay at Shanghai EDITION during the October national holiday in China. And I would love to recommend this hotel as my best accommodation experience in Shanghai or even in China, in terms of its location, hardware quality and most important, the Service, compared with other 5-satr hotels in China.
Shanghai EDITION locates on Nanjing East...
When you visit Shanghai, stay at the Peace Hotel. Built in 1928 it has been restored to it's Art Deco glory. Rooms are spacious location on the Bund is perfect. Views of business district at night are stunning.
It was nice experience in WA.The warm service make me feel happiness. The concierge staff especially Amber and Candy. They are not only knowledge，but consider it to be a pleasure to assist in any way possible. You can rely on them for their taste，their judgment and their through understanding of what it takes to make yours a comfortable stay.
From the moment you arrive, the Staff are friendly, smiling & plenty of them around you. Rooms are extremely spacious & comfortable. It’s in an excellent location, on the “bund”, and walking distance to many historical buildings & outstanding restaurants. Shopping is also convenient. And you must, absolutely must, have a drink on the rooftop bar where you’ll witness the...
The hotel has everything we needed - breakfast was varied and fresh, location was ideal, beds and duvets were super comfortable, staff were helpful and friendly and to top it off they shouted us a cocktail every night at happy hour!
Also shout out to our porter Mark Wang for super service. 110% recommend.
