Dine inside or outside under the large cork tree. Plenty of mussel options as well fish, steak, burgers for mains. Eight people were waiting for the doors to open at 5pm on Sunday evening so they could sample the fine food. Hungarian staff are friendly, and sure can cook.

We made a point of coming here for lunch to sample the world famous green lipped mussels even though we'd had them elsewhere on our tour of NZ. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a kilo of mussels in garlic and coriander sauce. They were tasty but surprisingly a little tough as I suspect they were... More

We were drawn to the restaurant because of the novelty massive mussel pot on the roof and the cartoon like mussel statues all over the frontage! It looked like a fun place that was very keen on mussels - which is exactly what it turned out to be. We had 1kg of mussels in garlic broth each, which was too... More

The seafood chowder was excellent. Followed up with calamari which was so good we ordered a second round.

Well what can I say about this place that hasn't been said. A little town with this wonderful restaurant with the main fare being mussels. Firstly, you HAVE to book. We watched so many people turned away as they were fully booked. Imagine walking into the wonderful smells and seeing the tables of mussels and being turned away, no way.... More

This was a spur of the moment stop and one of the best places we have ever eaten at. The mussels are fresh and full of flavour. We chose a mussel pot in white wine garlic broth, seafood chowder and some homemade breads. Cannot give this place a big enough wrap - if you like seafood you MUST try this... More

This is the greatest place to eat green lip New Zealand mussels! Fun atmosphere, great service, very fresh, very large sized mussels and they are prepared so many different ways! We couldn't decide on one dish so we had three! 1-Thai green curry & coconut cream, 2-the garlic, white wine & herbs, and the chili, garlic & tomato. We order... More

Grilled Mussels. OMG. YUMMO. My favourite place to eat so badly. I had to find an excuse to go back the next day. I even skipped eating our freshly caught cod that day just to go back to have a meal before we continued our journey. The desert was fabulous and my aunty had the Salmon Pasta. This was highly...
