Very attractive pub in heart of village. Food was good but not very large portions for the price. Friendly staff.

The food was unappetising, unedible and sent back.As this pub won pub of the year 2016 I dread to think what the others we're like!

Had a 3 coise meal with a friend, everything was beautifully presented and tasted great, however this is not a cheap place but it's well worth the money

Came for a lunch with friends. Tried to book a table but they only take bookings for groups of 8 or more. However, it was midweek and we got a table without any problems. My friends had fish and chips which looked small but was solid and delicious and plenty. I had the soup with bread which was both delightful.... More

My wife and I stoped here for lunch after visiting a winery nearby. Cozy place, friendly staff, good food. Our chicken and chorizo sandwiches were tasty and the chips just perfect.

I have only snacked or drunk here but enjoyed a wonderful new year eve with plenty of classy nibbles. This sells out easily. The real ales are good and not overly expensive. Also sell local wine.

Excellent service and food! Certainly one of the very best pubs in the area. I eat here regularly with my elderly mother and we are always served promptly and the food is hot and delicious. Lovely interior, although I personally would like there to be a little more light as elderly folk like my mum, struggle to see well inside.

We arrived at 12 noon and by 12.15 the pub was very busy. Lovely country pub with a great atmosphere and open fire - friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. Delicious food - usual roast choices for a Sunday plus lots of other options. I enjoyed pigeon breast as a starter and blackberry and apple crumble for pudding. My... More

had a meal out with friends last weekend, great service, the food was delightful, especially the scallops with black pudding and the cheeseboard. The lamb could have been a bit more tender if I am being picky. Loved the Sussex gin on offer and the English sparking wines were a big hit especially the Ridgeview. Lovely cosy surrounding great staff... More

We visited on a Sunday at the end of the lunch rush. It took some time to get our order taken, and because we had a long way to drive afterwards we asked how long the food would be and were told that there were no delays in the kitchen. We had our starters; the food was delicious. We then... More
