I booked this restaurant for my partner's 50th birthday knowing that it had a good reputation as a wedding venue and restaurant in general. After booking I read a lot of negative review on this website and others HOWEVER our experience was only positive. We...More

Beautiful sunny day over looking the beach...buzy bustling restaurant.. Had lunch in the cafe...Fish and chips were delicious! Lovely view of the bay. Parking was a bit of a concern at $3.80 an hour, one wouldn't want to stay long! Staff were friendly.

The customer service was so bad that it was enough to never make me go back. We arrived to have a nice lunch with my grandmother and the waiter treated us so badly since we did not have a reservation, even though the restaurant was...More

Dear Alessia Thank you for taking the time to highlight what you saw as poor service. I want to say how sorry we all are. The problem was 'not' that you did not have a booking, it was that you needed dates checked for a...More

The restaurant is located right in the beach and with floor to ceiling windows the view is great! Unfortunately the food didn't impress at all. My main consisted of a chicken Maryland on a serve of mash potato with a small bit of wilted green...More

Had dinner at this restaurant and whilst the location is just perfect... the food left a lot to be desired. The limited menu is one thing... but the lack of quality for the price was my main concern. This restaurant advertises itself as "fine dining"......More

This restaurant used to have really tasty food and impeccable service, so I expected the same. However, I had not been for a while. This time the staff were using the disabled toilets as a cloak cupboard. There were so many pieces of clothing, about...More

The private back room is perfect for a large group of people celebrating birthdays or special occasions. We had a set menu with a choice of 3 mains. The first course comprised of 3 little bite size portions - one each per person. After dinner,...More

"Sails on the Bay" offers great views across the Bay, excellent service, beautiful food and very good "special offers". Caters for large and small parties. A good selection of cakes can be ordered for special occasions. One of my very favourite restaurants in the suburbs.

Yes, very cliched to go to the beach and have Fish and Chips, but let me tell you.... Rockling filets of lovely fish, nice chunky chips and salad for lunch on beautiful winters afternoon, nothing beats it! Sails also has a great wine list and...More

Iconic Melbourne restaurant dining on Elwood Beach, well known for its relaxed modern day feel and our exceptional attention to service and detail. Surrounded by glass, Sails on the bay is a Melbourne Restaurant which sits one metre from the golden sands of Elwood Beach making the bay your dining canvas. The sun sets right outside our windows, sparkling on the waters of Port Phillip Bay. The view is uninterrupted and on any given day you can view a cruise liner sailing across the water, a wind surfer or at night the flickering lights of the West Gate bridge sparkle in the distance. With a location so close to the beach you can almost touch the sand. It’s the perfect place to dine, host a wedding, corporate event or small party. Designed to reflect the location, as well as creatively showcasing seasonality, our menu with our extensive local and international wine list, represent the very essence of modern Melbourne restaurant dining.
