Warm welcome from the most welcome and hospitable of hosts, this inn is now a gem in this lovely unspoilt village. Nothing too much trouble, brilliant food at remarkably good prices, beer (Wadworths) well kept, dogs allowed and warmly petted. Will keep coming back, again and again.

Was here for lunch on Sunday on our way to Bampton. Lovely dining area and the staff were young but friendly and efficient. I had the roast beef which came with all the trimmings and the food was delicious. The portions were very generous. My partner had the chicken pie which was also very tasty. We were too full to... The food was lovely and our party of six could not fault any one thing. The amount of people eating there was a good clue as to what we were to get. We will definitely return in the near future.

We hadn't been here for a while, and decided to stop on our way back from a walk. We were not disappointed. We had our two dogs with us and although they are allowed inside, we chose to sit in the garden as it was a lovely day. Both of us had the The Plough's Ploughmans, which was superb. A... More

We were a party of four two of which had beef and the other two selected their meals from the main menu, all the meals were beautifully presented with fresh vegetables served separately.

I am lucky enough to call this pub my local. So when the parents and Aunty pitched up with their dogs it was an easy choice for lunch. That said, I would happily travel to eat and drink here. Easily some of the best food for miles, you can tell the chef takes pride in his work. A good menu... More

Gorgeous place - small play area in the back for kids. Village nearby (Carterton) for more things to visit. The chicken on the kids' menu consisted of delicious handmade nuggets. Steak and pie great. A shared dessert was ENORMOUS. Lots of parking and all staff lovely.
