A lovely little pub on the bank of the River Esk. The food and service were excellent although quite expensive. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Booking is advisable; we went on a Thursday and it was busy.

I have just returned from a short break at the Board Inn, I can't praise it enough. I stayed in one of the adjoining cottages on a B&B basis. The food in first class, the portions are very generous. The pub is very relaxed, the staff can't do enough for you. I would not hesitate in recommending this pub. I... More

This is a pub with a lovely setting on the river Esk. We had the usual couple of beers, a sausage butty and a goats cheese sandwidch. Both were perfectly good though pricey. The goats cheese sandwich was huge. The highlight was the bowl of mixed nuts for a quid. Friendly service.

Were treated like family by the landlord and landlady. Good service from the other staff too. We just had the sandwiches which were very generous and very tasty.

We were on a tour of the North York Moors National Park and the guide stopped in Lealholm for lunch. We took a chance on this place and it was excellent. I had the soup (creamed vegetable) and half sandwich (bacon brie), which I really liked - the bread was fresh and very soft. My wife had a cheese sampling... More

we visited the pub after speaking to a few people visiting Lealholme & hearing how lovely the food was. Unfortunately we didnt know they don't serve food on monday & Tuesday nights. We mentioned that we were staying on nearby farm in motorhome so we would have to have next mornings breakfast or pot noodle, they, without hesitation said they... More

We did our research, checked the opening times and when they served food. Travelled over 20 minutes only to be told that they weren't serving food to non residents despite boards outside advertising that food was available. Disappointed we couldn't order food but enjoyed a pint of Flying Herbert. Went onto to the Wheatsheaf at Egton which is excellent.

Visited here today for Sunday lunch with my husband and pooch. I had the pork and husband had turkey. We both agreed that it was the best Sunday lunch we could remember eating. The atmosphere was very relaxed and staff very friendly and helpful which made us feel very welcome. We'll both definitely be returning every time we're in the... More

We called for lunch again having had a lovely lunch outside in the garden in the past. It was definetely busy. We sat in the Dinig Room ; the large menu board was in the bar area on the floor-bit awkward when customers are sitting there. It could be in the Dining Room itself. The food was ok, but the...
