Stopped here for a rest after a spot of shopping with friends. Sat outside on a beautiful late autumn afternoon drinking a glass of red, whilst my friends had coffees or hot chocolates. Ordered inside, and the service was very quick.

Amazing food that warms your heart. Great fun staff and such a kind genuine owner. Started with the soup and ended with the amazing raspberry cake. All were lovingly created with local produce and flair. Can't wait to come back.

We went in for scones and hot chocolate on a cold, dreary, rainy day. We were seated by the door - which the staff constantly kept open although it was freezing. Our scones were dry and heavy. The bathroom facilities were grotty (walls, floors, basin just everything) and smelled.

Waited over 45 mins for our food today . After 30 min questioned waiter who said it would take 10 mins max. Still no sign of food 15 mins later. Finally gave up. When paying our bill for drinks told main guy at cash register that we never received our food. No apology- he could not have cared less. We... More

The service was very slow. We had waited for an hour before our food came. I understand the staff were busy but they did not seem to be very helpful. We don't recommend coming to this place especially during holidays (Picnic is a much better idea).

We had been recommended to go here as my sister in law is gluten free and I am lactose intolerant and were advised that we would be accommodated This was fine. However the service was a bit lax and the final straw was that there was a hair in one of the meals. We pointed this out and it was... More

In the early 2000's we lived very close to Mount Dandenong and used to frequent the Ripe Cafe. Although it was mainly for Sunday breakfasts it was never a disappointment it's a nice spot in Sassafras and particularly cosy in winter. A few days ago we thought would take a day out in the ranges. From my experience of the... More

We went to this little cafe with a friend. Very good cakes but one of the waitresses, a brunette with a short pony tail was particularly agressive. Too bad that one person spoiled it all because the food was excellent and the outside seating area is very good. Get rid of this bad apple and we will come again.

Loved Ripe a few years ago. Sadly different owners, food tasteless, service very slow. Definitely will not visit again.
