We visited for dinner as we were staying in the hotel. The service was really friendly. The food was ok but not great for the prices.

Booked table for outside, granted its 50% off food, but no tables cleared food and glasses everywhere, even saw a small child taking food off an empty plate!! No wiping down. Very poor service hsd to wait 30 mins for drinks. Its not normlly like...this but clearly not prepared for the August discount.More

Waited ages for food and initial drinks. When food arrived it was of a poor standard. Even though it was half price as part of the eat out campaign, it still wasn’t worth the money. Don’t waste your money, pick somewhere else.

booked a one night stay for valentines including a candlelit 3 course meal. quick efficent check in, nice big room, if a little dated. not seen artex on a ceiling for some years.had a drink in the wild boar lounge bar with a young pleasant...lass behind the bar. this is a 3star hotel so we thought the valentines 3 course meal was half decent if a little rushed, decent bottle of italian white wine for £18 to wash it down with . good power shower in the morning followed by a good full english in the wild boar lounge.found all of the staff to be pleasant and helpful.More

Went for sunday lunch 4 people, lovely dining room, very friendly young efficient waiting staff, myself and my wife ordered chicken breast other couple ordered a lamb roast dinner and a steak the steak was very good but that was the only posotive, when the...waiter brought the "lamb" he said beef roast when told lamb was ordered he took it back then returned with the same plate saying it was lamb the lady ate the meal but was conviced it was beef, both chicken meals were overcooked and dry and one piece on my plate was almost impossible to cut told the waitress about this and she apologised and offered to have the chicken meals cooked again but we declined as we would be eating after the other two had finished, ate the piece of chicken I could cut and left the other as did my wife mentioned the problems again at the end of the meal and got another apology, disappointing experience will not return.More

Firstly the place is dirty. Half dead hanging baskets and a mucky half empty fish pond welcomes you at reception. Behind the bar and the till area was really dirty. Toilets weren't too clever either with paper all over the floor. The food was not...too bad for two courses £11.95, but the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. Firstly the table was not set, then we got told off for sitting there. The service took so long I forgot what I had ordered! Then when I asked the waitress to look at the desert menu, she said you have to order that at the bar. The lady on the next table said she didn't have to. I said to the waitress I haven't seen a menu and she said they are at the bar. Went to the bar to order and the tills don't work for cards and everyone wants to pay with card! I wait ten mins and then sit down. About ten mins later I see a waiter and shout to him I want to order our deserts, been waiting an hour. He eventually takes the order and we wait again. We order two coffees to come with desert and these arrive after we have eaten them. The waiting staff keep wandering around with deserts in there hands shouting who has ordered these. They have not got a clue! Finally we go to pay and a bill that should be £65 is £81, they have added £16 of someone else's tab onto our bill. Then to top it off again the tills don't work so we have to walk to the hotel reception to pay. All in all it took three hours to eat one three course meal. Need to get it sorted pronto!!!More

Worst of all was the wild pub. The food we received was radically different from what we ordered. The portions were very small for the price and the service was not good. The waitress was very unfriendly and refused to change or credit us for...the dish that did not fit the menu. The rooms were fine but the television did not work and the room window did not open. not recommendedMore

We went to the Fine Dining evening in the Wild Boar Restaurant and I have to say the food was amazing. The wines matched every dish perfectly. The service was top notch and not over bearing but very attentive. The atmosphere was very mellow and...it made the evening very enjoyable. Great parking as I’m registered disabled and I got right in front of the entrance. We will definitely return to the restaurant and to the bar in the hotel and if anyone was visiting us I will most certainly recommend staying at the Sitwell Arms. Great evening all round.More
