Ok I stopped over to catch lunch after checking the web and this place was highly recommended. Firstly, this is a old school kopitiam famed for its pau and hainanese food. So we tried chicken chop and flat noodle cantonese style. Since the place is busy, had to wait for 30 minutes for it and when the food arrived, the... More

Agreed that the service is slow, but we are here for the old style kopi tiam like in the "good old days" where most people forget that pace of life is slower. The chicken chop is nice and the beef curry baos are great especially the soft bread part. We also enjoyed the iced barley with a tinge of lemongrass... More

I have been eating there since the 1970s and the food has always been good, whatever you order. Has a very nice ambiance of a Chinese kopitiam.

My grandparents were born and raised in KK. I grew up living with them. Throughout my life, I have only eaten their paus. I have never eaten any other paus. There is something about the combination of the filling and the bread makes it worthy. If you were to cut it in half, you'll see how the filling (may it... More

After having so many so call famous pao from various town during our road trip. I would say this is the best so far for handmade pao. The other shop is already using machine to produce their pao now a day. Yeah, old cafe...we were attended accordingly. Although food serving is rather slow but we are not in a hurry... More

The concept of Hainanese "Western" food is unique to Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, where Hainanese immigrants employed as cooks by the British to replicate western cuisine. This lead to an Asian spin on dishes such as meat cutlets and such. Yes, Yut Loy has survived in a town rich in history such as Kuala Kangsar but sadly, it seems like... More

Old school roti bakar, half boiled egg washed down with local coffee. Been around since the god knows when and still maintain its quality. If you are after their famous pau.. steamed buns.. come after 2.30pm

The service is very slow here although the restaurant is not full. Waited for 45 mins for a meal and most of the dishes here are finished prior to ordering. The taste is just ok and it is over rated. It is also pricey.

Yut Loy in Kuala Kangsar is a throwback to the good old days of when "kopi tiam" were the norm for locals. A typical old style coffee shop with marble table tops, wooden chairs and a very nostalgic atmosphere. When we arrived at about 11am, they were making their "pau" or Chinese dumplings in the kitchen at the back of... More
