Our favorite place for ceviche. Always fresh, staff friendly! We get the mixto. Fruit shakes fantastic.
Simple, delicious, friendly, view and not full of tourists. We LOVED it! We will probably visit again before we head home. Ceviche is made with Mahi!
Such a sweet place, great food, great sunset, friendly ladies, cold beer. We loved it and went back a few times. Hubby had spicy shrimp the first time and it was so good and I had whole red snapper, and it was SO delicious. I...ate every bit of the fish that was not bone and for me, that's not usual! Crispy and delicious and not too salty, like other whole fried fish I've had in the area. We had it again after that. Really good value. We've been to the Ojochal area three times now and people recommended this spot as a hidden gem not to miss this time, and we agree.More
The restaurant is located with brillant views between Uvita and Ojochal. It’s called a cevicheria, so we thought they had to be ceviche experts. Sadly, the ceviche pescado (fish ceviche) was ‘tired’ and flaccid, as if it had been made the day before. Worst ceviche...in Costa Rica so far. What substanse was the grilled fish fillets made of? The “fillets” were totally rectangular og very, very thin. The taste was more like chicken than fish. If you are a true fish lover - stay away.More
They have hands down the best and freshest ceviche in the area. Worth the 15 min drive past Uvita. They do not use sugar, and their limes are really sour. They make the ceviche with Pargo (Red Snapper). It is awesome. If you like your...ceviche on the more sour, less sweet side, this is your spot.More
Based on the reviews, our family of four each ordered the whole fried fish and ceviche for lunch. Totally delicious! They also have beer, mixed drinks, and great smoothies for the kids. Sitting at the back bar, facing the trees and the distant ocean, we...got to watch an iguana climbing the tree behind the restaurant as well as numerous birds. We enjoyed it so much we went back for lunch two days later.More
The mixed ceviche and whole fish were both excellent. We arrived about 1/2 hour before sunset and got to enjoy the incredible view while enjoying our fantastic meals. The restaurant closes at 6 so plan for an early dinner with a great sunset. Don't miss...this if you are in the area.More
Just enjoyed an early dinner with our family and friend's family at this restaurant. We all had the ceviche and fresh whole fish, all of which were delicious! The servers were very welcoming to our young families. Beautiful view, excellent service and delicious food. What...more can you ask for?More
Nice casual seafood restaurant! Great low prices and very high quality food! It is a simple place to enjoy a great meal. Do stop when in the area!
This is a very cute local restaurant. We always stop here on our trips in the area for ceviche. The whole fried fish is also yummy and patacones are great.
We've been returning to this small soda owned by two sisters for years. We go for their ceviche mix and their whole, fried fish which is perfect!
We really enjoyed our ceviche and fish fillet at this roadside soda. Beer is available but no wine. The only let down was the whole fish which had been fried and was a little dry
The food is good for a CR roadside stop but on weekends it gets very busy from all the travelers on the main road. The staff is very friendly but can't handle more than 3 tables. So when the place if packed it takes up...to 1 hour to get your food. If you are traveling through during the week, it is a must to stop off and have a drink and some cerviche. On weekends make sure you have the patience to wait at least 1 hour or grab something to go.More
After traveling around Costa Rica for almost 6 weeks, my husband and I have gotten used to good, if simple, food that is inexpensive - we're talking $5-$8 per person. So we were pretty put out when we got to the Dominical/Uvita/Ojochal area where all...the restaurants seem to claim "gourmet" status simply because they make sub-par facsimiles of American or European cuisine and can charge exorbitant amounts of money for it because most tourists here don't seem to know what they're missing. ANYWAY... Ceviche Pinuelas was a breath of fresh air. The food was tasty, well-prepared, and just the right portion size. The service was friendly and there was a nice view of the ocean. Locals congregate there, so you know it's good. :) And, perhaps the most refreshing thing of all, the ceviche didn't contain any sugar. This may sound strange to you, but for some reason we keep running into ceviche sweetened with sugar. It's weird and not the greatest. They make it right here! Husband got the clam ceviche with patacones and really enjoyed it. I opted for calamari with rice and veggies and also really enjoyed it. We split an ice cream for dessert. :) So skip the over-priced tourist traps, once in a while at least, and grab some meals here!More
