Good pub Sunday dinner with all the trimmings. Old fashioned pub with regulars that specialised in good pub grub.

Landlord welcoming and friendly, good selection of fine beers (the Plum Porter is not to be missed). A real gem of a pub.

If you want noisy machines then you'll have to find somewhere else. This is a more traditional establishment albeit with a tv on one wall. It also has a modest size eating area. The food is very good.

Very much our 'local' in Billericay. A welcoming and friendly town pub with no music blaring out drowning conversation. Welcoming bar staff and publican. Good range of real ales with guest ales that are regularly changed, and sensibly priced wines. Food is excellent fare for pub food - very tasty, well presented and served nice and hot. Table bookings in... More

We have used this pub for years for a good old fashioned home made type meal and a gorgeous pint, they also serve the best ciders! It's clean, comfortable, cosy and does not have the TV on every time you go which I personally like as I could not go there if football was on. It has been tastefully modernized... More

Last year I reviewed 3 Xmas Lunches (not my favourite) & only gave one 5 Stars - this one! This year, only had one Xmas Lunch (fortunately) - this one. And once again, to no surprise at all, it receives 5* again. Perhaps I'm biased, as this is one of my favourites - but my 2 companions were "making their... More

14 of us booked ahead for Christmas Lunch including what we choose to eat. As it is open plan we could get our drinks and sit at our table arrangement with no fuss. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere coupled with good service and good food made is a very pleasant event. Everyone was pleased so we will probably use... More

Lovely food, make you feel very welcome. Looked after my father in law as if he was family. I've been here with family several times and would return time and again.

Thank Stanley B
