The first visit was for a seafood catapalana. A generous feast of crab, prawns and clams in a stew featuring truly amazing potatoes. The following day we returned and had the monkfish version. Again wonderful as was the plate of clams that preceded it and...the couple of bottles of house white that accompanied it. Simply beautiful fishy things well served by excellent staff. A great lunch experience.More

The best fish stew. (Recommended by the owner of the bakers opposite, great coffee and natas) we sat outside and were very impressed by the quality of the 2 dishes ordered Fisherman's Stew and the seafood rice. Both full of very tasty seafood and fish...Expect a bit of wait as all freshly cooked enjoy a carafe of very palatble red wine. Fish stew could easily feed 2 hungry people. .throughly enjoyed. .More

This is a good old portuguese fish restaurant. Grilled Fresh fish everyday and those wonderful "arroz de marisco" and "massada de peixe" that you can find all year long. Honest kitchen and friendly staff that know how to make you feel well around. dated decoration...that could be improved.More

I have always a lunch or a dinner at Solar Beirao every time I'm in Portugal. It's a quality restaurant at the beginning of the main bar and restaurants street at Cacilhas (just before the church). It's a busy place but service is fast and...food delicious. This last time I had the cabrinha which was simply amazing. I was trying it for the first time. Although the portions are always big I would recommend that if you ask for the goat dish, ask for the full portion if you are hungry of course because what you see in the dish is not just meat. It's meat with bones so the full portion is more filling! I tried also several seafood dishes in the past and I was fully satisfied. Prices are very reasonable and it's a value for money place. With friends or alone this is a must place to be. If you cross to Cacilhas with the boat from Cais do Sodres, try this restaurant for Portuguese seafood and meat dishes. Unlike many restaurants around, this one is less touristy, what they serve is truly quality and has been consistently great throughout the years.More

Took the ferry from Lisbon to Cacilhas during our stay in Lisbon and came across Solar Beirao a short walk from the ferry. We looked at other restaurants but settled on this one as it was busy and seemed popular with locals. There was a...good choice of reasonably priced dishes. It was an extremely hot day and my partner wanted a simple salad with grilled garlic prawns which wasn't on the menu. He wasn't able to make himself understood when explaining in English what he wanted so the waiter took him inside of the restaurant so that he could make his selection from the various types of prawns available and explain to the chef. Once served the food was excellent. Service couldn't be faulted and when my partner splashed a little sauce on his shirt, the waiter noticed him dabbing at it and quickly brought him a spray stain remover which cleansed it straight away. I would definitely recommend a visit and happily eat here again on any future visit.More

Just 100 yards from the ferry terminal this place is a great find. We had booked for 6 but when we arrived they had a large party siting outside who had just turned up, this was not a problem we sat across the road and...had a drink while they prepared our table. It was well worth the wait. The food was fantastic, beautiful fresh seafood, wonderfully prepared and presented. My son and I shared a mixed seafood platter which contained Tiger Prawns, Lobster, Dressed Crab, Fresh Prawns, Cams, Muscles or as one of party described it - half of the ocean. It was tremendous, as I know what the others had was also so good - my daughter had a seafood rice which was also incredible and contained many different things. Service was very good, one of the chaps spoke perfect English, and the cost for what we had was extremely reasonable - I would rush back here if I lived in Lisbon, it was greatMore

We were advised to visit here by a very kind bar lady who was so helpful as they also served food! We were not expecting as much as we got. This is one of the best places I have had seafood. Truly local and fresh....Served in a big pot, it was delicious and plentiful. The wine served was also fabulous and reasonably priced. Tourists are very welcome and the staff very friendly. A great way to spend an evening across from the busy city on a short boat-trip. Great choice and selection of dishes too.More

Perfect place to eat just near the ferry station. Extraordinary seafood, large selection (appetizers and regular meals) and really tasty. The service is very good and the place looks nice. It is located near a walking path, so traffic is not disturbing you while eating.

Don't eat or even except the starters! It cost us 9.20€!!! They calculated every butter around 1.60€ each, the cheese was 3.20€. The fish was good, even though they didn't bring us the potatoes we wanted. The service spoke barely any english, but was despite...that ok. We won't go there again.More

Excellent food and good service at affordable prices, the "polvo a lagareiro" was very good, the "lulas grelhadas" and the vasia steak where just on the spot, good deserts.
