Me and my colleague called here because we were staying at the hotel around the corner. What a big mistake. I usually do not write reviews because we work for a big national pub company but the service was that bad I am angrily venting my frustrations here. When we ordered the lad seemed more interested in messing about with... More

After visiting the very good Dunkirk Hall last week, we noticed the Hob is the sister pub. Its very impressive. The atmosphere, service and food is to die for! I had the Prawns and Proscuittio. Then the Ye Dog hot dog. Beautifully presented and tasted like a top class restaurant would do. I highly recommend both these good value and... More

We had a Groupon and we're taking my husbands dad and friend for a meal. We were the first customers at 6pm and thought would be out by 7pm! We waited an hour for our main meal which was ridiculous but it was good, so thought they can't be that long with the pudding! Well, how wrong can you be!... More

Usually one my go to places in the past 12 months but this place has gone down hill over the past few months! We went for my sons birthday and waited 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. People who ordered after us got their food before us. There was only 3 other tables the whole night so I can't... More

Visited the Hob Inn at the weekend as I had heard they have a new menu, I was not disappointed. Once again we were greeted with smiles and hello's from the friendly bar staff and shown to a table in the restaurant. We ordered soft drinks and chose the goats cheese and pear salad and the crispy chicken livers to... More

What an awesome little find!!! We came here yesterday with the new menu being launched. It was outstanding! From the livers to the sea bass main. What a great attention to detail. It was like a Manchester too class restaurant. Intimate dining room with great music. Plates specific to food with different colours and themes. Staff and service were outstanding.... More

What a great place. Been here many times and went this week to taste the new menu. Unfortunately some of the mains weren't on as I believe there was a technical issue. But what I did have was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. King prawn and prosciutto and hot pot main. Really delicious meal. Coupled with outstanding service and attention... More

Visited here for a first time and won't be returning. Family of 6 adults dining for a birthday lunch out. Only one young girl was serving at the bar and delivering food to the tables. Our table was booked for 1.00pm on Monday 21st Nov. Before placing our food order, we were told that no sandwiches were available. No problem... More

Upon my visit to this beautiful building I could hear shouting and swearing coming from the kitchen, this was not a one off but occurred numerous times during my visit. Staff were very polite however there was a long wait for my tables starters, then there was an even longer wait for our mains. When the food eventually arrived it... More
