I found this restaurant, because it was a GastroClub member. (Its a diners club from Istanbul). I wasnt expecting much, yet it turned out to be wonderful. The best restaurant in Alacati Port. At the port, forget the overrated and overexpensive Ferdi Baba nonsense, (which is full with wanna-be istanbul crowd), forget the newly-opened Casablanca in Okuz (can only be... More

Typical Aegean fish restaurant with a nice setting by the waterside at the port Alaçatı. I highly recommend the cold mezzes and the side dishes as we try to taste as many and different as possible.

I had dinner at Kydonia with my husband last night. They have untraditional mezes; we tried octopus with mustard sauce, and another cold meze with Aegean herbs, garlic and yoghurt. They were both nice, however the taste of mustard octopus was very dominant which you would not prefer along with raki :) try that with wine..we tried cinnamon cheese, which... More

Only the quality of fish and view were good here. Despite the variety of mezes we liked only one, all the others were either overcooked or with a strange smell. When I ordered green salad the waiter brought me salad from tomatoes with cheese on top trying to convince me that it is what I want. At the end in... More

The Aegean cuisine appetizers (meze) were incredible! There was a wonderful variety, with both the usual Turkish ones and various other original and unique pieces from all along the Aegean sea. I would especially recommend the Crete cuisine pieces, the eggplant, octopus and the asparagus

Kydonia may be the ideal seafood restaurant incorporating good food with great service and fine atmosphere. Make sure you make a reservation before you go so that you can ask for a table with a nice view (may be a little dependant on boats parked at the marina). I personally prefer loading up on mezzes (starters) both cold and warm.... More

I am not a gourmet at all.... But I enjoy food, very much, and nothing gives me more pleasure than sharing a true find, a gem that deserves everybody's attention.... If Alaçatı is your destination, Kydonia has to be your stop the very first night.... They are owned and operated by the same group who runs my most favorite resturant... More

Kydonia; serving 70 different Turkish-Greek appetizers and seafood with spectacular Bosphorus view in Kurucesme Istanbul and also in Alacati, Cesme.Kydonia serves rich and historical cuisine of the Crete island, based on the old repatriated family recipes that were brought by The Turks migrating from the island. Seven herb hash brown, olive wood smoked baby artichokes, mastic octapus are only a few of the delicious appetizers… Kydonia is the historical name of a region in the Aegean coast of Turkey, Ayvalık. It is also the name of a very unique and delicious seashell, which can be tasted at the restaurant.
