Unique little bar in the middle of nowhere. The owner is very friendly and has a few stories to tell. He's very interesting to talk too and plays great music.

I had read about this place before going to Koh Lipe. It was a mission of mine to track it down. So glad I did. The bar was actually closed when we arrived as the owner was fearful of Corona. But he was around and...could see we were ok and so got us a few cold beers and sat with us talking. All I can say is we have been to Thailand ten times now and the conversations we had with the owner were by far the most interesting conversations we’ve ever had with a local. Please go to Home Bar if you go to Koh Lipe, it’s away from the hyped crowded main area and totally worth it. You’ll leave the bar with plenty food for thought! Check it out once this crisis is over. It’s a must!More
Try his piña colada and chat with the owner, very friendly guy. Beer there very cold, which is perfect.
Passed by this place on my way to gym, looked kinda rough but after a second glance I was interested. Returned later with my gf and the place breathes harmony and 420. My gf enjoyed the place alot even tho she never even smooked a...ciggarette. This is a must visit if you really wanna get that hakuna matata vibe and just relax. Nice drinks and the owner is a good guy. Its 5min from walking street in the heart of Ko Lipe.More
Hands down the best bar on Koh lipe....and I say that with confidence. Me and my family (2 adults 2 children 7 and 4) spent a week on Koh lipe which was awesome. One piece of advice that I would give to anyone visiting the...island is to venture away from the main drag of walking street. Don’t get me wrong walking street is okay but there are little gems to be found if you are prepared to venture off the beaten track a little. The Home Bar (great name, if you’ve been you’ll know why) is situated smack bang in the middle of the island. The owner (Mr Nor or Mr Noah?) is eccentric, funny, enticing, and very interesting to talk to. His bar is all self built constructed over a number of years and designed from unused bits and pieces of junk but it is done with great style, love, and passion. He loves his bar and that shows in every element. We love his bar too. Sadly we found the bar on our penultimate night so couldn’t visit again however when I return to the island this will be my place of choice for drinks. If you are on the island you MUST visit this place, as seeing is believing. When you know, You know people 🤷♂️🤙🤙More
The owner has his heart in the right place, that’s for sure! He loves what he’s doing and a visit here should be on your to do list!
please please please do not miss this!! if you want to experience one of the few left real authentic places in Koh Lipe this is the one. The owner is an amazing person who sadly lately only has 1/2 customers per night and his business...is slowly disappearing due to the big buzz in walking street, his place is something really special, it’s his home and everybody’s home, it’s like a temple, he takes care of it like a zen garden, he really can sense the vibe and is magically able to put the perfect music with the perfect light at the perfect moment according to the energy you bring, he’s a master of creating atmospheres, he’s a philosopher and a man who meditates about life staring at the crackling fire, for me and my girlfriend it will be one of the most beautiful memories of thailand, it was beautiful hearing him telling the stories of the island and how it’s becoming increasingly more and more covered in resorts and concrete, he has lots of trees in fact in his place, because he hopes that when all that part of the island will become commercialized too he will have mango trees and palms and beautiful plants. Anyways there are no words to describe the magic this place has, you just have to go, and come back home at night enriched in your soul.More
Cheap drinks, lovely atmosphere and good weed. In the middle of nowhere but as Lipe is a small island, not too far to walk.
an awesome place to relax and listen to Bob Marley music takes you back in time very friendly staff and great place
I loved the style of this place and the prices made it hard not to love. Really chill vibes and the owner is so easy to talk to and really interesting. He set up some bonfires to keep the mozzies away which was appreciated. Really...nice guy and much more chilled and cheaper than drinking on the beach or walking street. If you go to watch sunset on sunset beach make sure you come here on your way home!More
If you’re in Koh Lipe you MUST go and visit the Reggae Home Bar! The place is made from recycled junk and the owner has made it all from scratch over the last 10 years or so. When you go there for one of his...amazing cocktails he welcomes you in as if he’s welcoming you into his home. (The Pina Colada was one of the best I’ve ever had!!) He sat with us and drank and smoked nice herbal cigarettes while telling us stories about the island and getting philosophical about life and the pursuit of happiness. He may first strike you as a bit loopy but he’s a very intelligent and wise man who I really enjoyed speaking to. I must warn you though you may struggle to leave :-) ENJOYMore
Place was empty when we were there. We were the only customers. A little out of the way. In the Lipe "jungle" Sangsom+coke was 140THB Interesting looking bar made from scrap Owner is a real nutcase!!! :p :p :p
I really recommend to visit this place as it as an amazing vibe and specially the owner deserve a visit... he is a very good guy 10/10
Mr. Nor who has the bar is the kindest person and not at least insanely good at making cheap delicious drinks with loads of alkohol! The atmosphere is fantastic and laid back. No other place to chill out in the evening/night after a long day...at the beach! I guarantee you won't find a better bar!More
I've visited many reggae bars in Asia in this is one of best. A genuine reggae bar, about 5 mins from walking street. Take the road towards sunrise beach and you cannot miss it! The Nor moved to Lipe 8 years ago, being only the...3rd person on Lipe and began building home bar from scratch, clearing the jungle himself, making quirky decorations and re planting trees and herbs. The guy is an absolute legend and you can sit talking to him for hours and listening to his many stories. He is a genuine happy guy, and sees his life as a blessing as he only left PhiPhi one month before the terrible tsunami. He has 3 dogs and 3 cats who he loves like they are children. Legend has it that he also brought the very first dog to Lipe, who lived with with him alone in the jungle, appropriately named "Tarzan, King of the jungle"More
