We had a lovely evening at Ebitsutei in the lower village in Grand Hirafu. The food here is izakaya style and the beer is on tap! We had an assortment of sashimi and freshly shucked oysters which were excellent followed by salads, tempura, braised belly...pork, salmon etc. Great value for money unlike some of the other places in the top end of town. Will definitely be back again and you do need to book ahead!More

We ordered quite a bit. Everything is served hot. The teriyaki chicken was particularly good. Nothing is out of normal.

I arrived 5 minutes before opening time at this tiny tiny ’Izekaya’ (pub) in lower Hirafu. Pouring rain. I walk in, and immediately got shoo’d out. ’Not open! Not open!’ shouted (I assume) the owner and crossed his arms in front of him in that...rather aggressive way the Japanese sometimes do when they want you to sod off. Soaking wet, I was eventually allowed in on the dot and had s beer whilst waiting for my mates. So. Everyone arrived (5 of us in total), we had some nosh, a bit of sake, a few beers each. Food is perfectly nice for a tiny pub but obviously nothing special. The beer is cold, the sake also cold. Fine fine fine. Two hours later, the bill arrives: 50,000 yen. Five hundred dollars. A hundred bucks a head. For a few beers and some bar food. That, my friends, is not even funny. That’s a rip-off.More

When we arrived a local gave us the best recommendation. But you must book, there was several parties that where turned away. All dishes where amazing and the kitchen is open so watching the prep is so much fun. We had oysters, sushimi, crab rice,...fish baked and tempura prawn all where stunning. AmazingMore

We have been back many times to this restaurant over several years and look forward to multiple bookings there each time we visit Niseko. Its superb value, very friendly and the food has always been outstanding. Its nice to see many of the same faces...each year too, which is unusual in a resort town. Its easily worth the 5 minute walk down the hill. ThanksMore

We made a reservation and indeed they are very full. Tried the king crab, sashimi, oden, and onigiri. They were all superb. Good quality, good choices of sake too. Do drop by, and there are also plenty of choices around this area too!

Ebisutei is about 5 mins walk from the Hirafu intersection. Its grilled hokke and oden were absolutely amazing. Spicy chicken wings and tempura were great and highly recommended too. Highly advised to make reservations as walk-in customers were politely turned away.

This little restaurant, almost at the end of the road, hides a treasure of flavors, taste and good food. Even so close after the earthquake shook the area Ebisutei was able to deliver a delicious meal to all attending guests. Service is friendly and smooth...and due to her upbringing in the US, no issues with English. The food is prepared to its best ability and I am sure you will, as I did, devour every piece offered.More

Delicious and wonderful menu. Well prepared and well thought out. A gem and has so much “hole in the wall” atmosphere. Great drink selections.
