Located in Rubano and toqued by Massimiliano Alajmo, a man whose cooking earned him 3 Michelin Stars at the record breaking age of 28, le calandre proved an exemplary way to wrap a trip stretching across North Central Italy comprised of 18 Etoiles de Bibendum and thirty-eight eateries total, the Chef's "classico" menu taking a look back at the sort... The restaurant is located far from any major city (apart from Venice). However, it is worth the trip. Simple and charming decor and ambience. Excellent, friendly and efficient service. Delicious and creative food by Chef Massimiliano Alajmo, the youngest in history to have been awarded three stars by the Michelin Guide, in 2002. Appetizers and desserts were the best dishes.... Where else but here would you get the Maitre d'Hotel hand feeding one of your elderly guests with a spoon when one of the little parcels of liquid stuffed pasta kept threatening to burst. And where else would everyone have been delighted to have been hand fed? This is just the best restaurant in the world, the most inventive Chef,... More

I have benn to LeCalandre three times. It is on my top 3 list and I Have visited over 10 3 star restaurants. Food and Service is nothing short of amazing. The First Taste" dish is a masterpiece. Its simplicity of flavour and texture when interpreting black squid risotto is a magical experience. The chocolate desert containing several fabrics that... More

This was my first 3* michelin restaurant. It was great experience, to eat and feel that level of food. From couver to dessert it was unbelievable... cuttlefiah cappuccino, "lasagne" soup... pure taste... something simple is made to perfection. I will try to visit this restaurant once more. Service was great also.

We have eaten at many outstanding restaurants around the world. Le Calandre was by far the best. The staff was exceptionally gracious, perfectly led by Andrea Coppetta Calzavara. The Sommelier Matteo Bernardi offered to do a wine pairing to match Chef Alajmo's creations. His choices were truly perfection. The combination of flavors, textures and presentation of each dish created by... More
