My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's day, and it did not disappoint. I'm always skeptical when I see restaurants advertising 'authentic Chinese' cuisine as I have lived in China and know how hard it is to find real Chinese food here in Ireland! But China Sichuan Restaurant offered the best of both worlds, fantastic service in a lovely... More

Booked at the last minute. Luckily got a table for 2. We both selected set lunch menu. Reasonable price. Chose cold shredded spicy salad and Kung po for mains. Had glass prosecco which was superb. Place was packed and it was in between lunch/evening. Love this place and understand why it's so popular.

One of our current favorite restaurants. Service is excellent. It was so busy last night we had a drink at the bar while our table was prepared but this did not detract at all from the evening ad there was a great buzz around the bar. Food was as always spectacular and the service was prompt, our waiter had an... More

When living in Dublin, i was a regular client, lunch on my own, with friends and dinner on Saturday night with family and friends. Love their aromatic duck, the prawns with ginger ans scallions. Would go to try their new meals. A friend from Toronto said that it was the best Chinese she ever had! When i last went i... More

We visited here specifically to celebrate CNY. This was without doubt one of the most authentic Chinese experiences we have had in Ireland. The food, while pricey was spot on in terms of flavour, we had Hon Yu Guozi - wonton dumplings served in chilli oil, and Waltip dumplings to start, both were delicious and full of flavour. For mains... More

I come to this restaurant from time to time because the good is great. The ambience of the place is excellent. Bit expensive for Chinese food but worth it . Only problem is it's location, in the middle of an industrial area so nothing else to do or see on the area.

This place has a lovely atmosphere. Dimmed lightning, spacious areas, good ventilation (no smell on clothes after). The staff is so friendly, kind, very professional, very attentive - we felt as if we were royals from ancient dynasty. The food we chosen (duck, lamb, seafood hot pot and veg tofu dish) was very good yet these were new flavours for... More

I really like this Chinese restaurant. It is one of the only places I can have a gluten free Chinese meal in Dublin that I would actually trust being a coeliac. The food is delicious and the staff are very professional. Defo worth a visit!

Description
From Georgina Campbell's Ireland GuideThis restaurant has been Ireland’s benchmark Chinese restaurant for two generations, and is a previous recipient of this award. It should in perhaps be named The Phoenix as, not long after moving to new premises, this family-owned favourite closed last winter and appeared to be a victim of the recession. Then, to the delight of its many fans, it reopened in the summer of 2010 after a six month hiatus. And, to a collective sigh of relief, it soon transpired that its modern interpretations of classic Sichuan cuisine are better than ever: classic dishes like tea smoked duck have been tweaked and given updated presentation by the brigade of young chefs who are reinterpreting traditional Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine with modern style. A special section of "Chef's Recommendations" highlights the kitchen's authentic Sichuan dishes based on centuries old recipes – and well-versed servers explain dishes and their ingredients, offering to tone down the amounts of chilli oil, Sichuan pepper and hot oil, if requested. The layout of the modern dining room has been improved too - and, on fine days, the glass frontage opens onto an inviting outdoor terrace with umbrella tables and seating.
