Went on recommendation and it didn't let is down. Huge portions! We couldn't finish our mixed grill platter for two but was worth every cent. The place gets busy so worth reserving a table on the weekends. House wine is lovely too. Great selection of meats and fish available. Come hungry!

We opted out for the starters which was a good job as the mains were unbelievable, I had the T-bone and my God it was huge , but the taste was delightful, I will be returning here without a doubt.

I visited this restaurant with my husband and it was excellent. We went on a Friday night and it was heaving so you'll definitely need to book in advance. The restaurant is very big and light with a vibrant atmosphere and our waitress was very pleasant. We ordered gambas al ajillo and a plate of jamon to start and the... More

My family and I visited El Gallego recommended by a local gentleman and we were not disappointed. If you like fish and steak this is the place to go. The mixed grill for 2 is enough to fill an army of people "outstanding" value. Highly recommend.

Terribly rude. Been before for a meal and it was good, planned to go back this evening for a birthday meal and can't make a booking because the rude man on the phone refuses to make a booking in English. Deliberately awkward. Just don't go there. What an absolute disappointment.

A much loved steakhouse, way too many really positive reviews, but credit where it is due........my second visit and this was much better than previous time. Steak cooked beautifully, fabulous taste and so much of it. Service still leaves much to be desired! However you like your steak cooked, ask for well done (bien hecho) it will still come with... This was recommended to us by a local. It was way above average. The steaks were tender as butter and the portions huge. Large choice of steaks or fish. The price was reasonable even for a really good bottle of wine . Staff are charming and although they speak,English they were happy that we tried to speak Spanish! We recommended... More

Heard about this restaurant through friends as we love a good steak, well we were not disappointed, you need to book, as other have said, fantastic tasty steaks, have one to share, the restaurant is busy, noisy and family friendly. Make sure you go!

One of few restaurants in the region where you can feel something close to a real Spanish atmosphere. Spanish families with children and grandchildren of all ages arrives quite late in the evening for Friday or Saturday dinner. But be sure to be hungry when come there - the steaks are enormous!
