We driven by often and always wanted to stop in. This place is the definition of a hole in the wall, but don't let that discourage you, this place is a little gem. Sure the carpet could be replaced and it could use a paint job but the food was great and the charm of the owner/cook/baker/server was endearing. She... More

Brace yourself for the overall appearance of this little cafe. You are literally in their home so pretend your Mom was asked to make five different things, that's how long it will take. This is a great cozy place with great homemade everything just don't go if you are going to feel rushed.

My husband and I stopped by here for a late lunch while on a drive to the valley. It was our second visit and just like the first time, the food was awesome. I ordered a piece of her homemade pumkin pie for desert and Dee the lady owner/cook/server said, do you mind waiting a few minutes I have to... More

What a sweet little place! All from scratch, everything home made and wonderful. Great little nook with wonderful atmosphere and charm. I would eat here every day if it was in Halifax. She is awesome!

This is not a hipster place...this place invented the hipsters....in the 60s! The small cafe caught our eye as we headed up to Cape Split for a hike. We walked in and the place was cluttered with the artifacts of the Cafe for the past who knows how many years. The two ladies making lunch looked like they were from... More

The time between you order taken and enjoying lunch can longer than expected. The reward is very good. On site prepared food with local ingredients. The reason for the delay is that the serve staff, cook and baker are usually one person. I recently enjoyed another roast beef dip/sandwish that is available sometimes. Local oven roasted roast beef with au... More

Like other reviewers we were put off by the wait. We arrived mid afternoon and were the only customers. They have a sign saying that good food takes time implying that people should be patient. All we ordered were sandwiches and coffee. It was empty and it still took almost an hour. As a consequence we were late for our... More

About 10:15 a guy stuck his head out the door to tell us it would be 11 am when they would be opening 😒😒😒 Really disappointed, this is... More
