Walked from the Portgate, the Errington Arms down to Chollerford. Back to the Errington to pick up the car. Welcome warmth and sustenance at the Errington afterwards. Very comfortable ,friedly place

The Errington Arms is at a crossroads that allows hikers, caravaners and holiday makers to go in four directions with attractions in easy reach, we have been North to the borders west to Kielder and just down the road to Hexham a very convenient and friendly base. The restaurant is to be recommended as we were and have not been... More

On our way to Edinburgh we stopped here for a break. Second time we have called here and once again delighted by friendly service and fantastic sandwiches. As good as a meal!

This has always been a favourite 'special occasion' place for our family given it's Olde Worlde charm and home cooked food. The menu is varied and imaginative and the staff are pleasant. Unfortunately on this visit it was a #fail. The deep fried skins with garlic mayo were sublime, my shepherd's pie was ok, 2 out of three roasts were... More

We have visited this restaurant several times and enjoyed good food. We decided to visit last Saturday and can honestly say the meal I had was absolutely delicious. I had baked chicken breast in a Thai broth with stir fried greens and 'proper' chips from the specials board. I really hope the chef decides to add it to the set... More

Only a slight detour up A68, off A69 on our way home. Stopped for lunch and we chose from the interestingly titled sandwich menu. My "Sea of Love" had crab, prawn and smoked salmon with salad, crème fraiche and dill in a chunky oblong brown bun. My jaw doesn't unhinge so I used knife and fork. If I had been... More

I travel 60 miles to get here, and I've been going for years. If you're "doing" Hadrian's Wall, then this is the place to dine. Good Menu's, pleasant staff, fresh ingredients, decent beer, and proper sized portions, all in pleasant surroundings. And without breaking the bank. In a world of increasingly bland dining, the Errington Arms is a gem, a pub... More

Stopped here for lunch and an ale while walking Hadrian's Wall. This was the best food I had on my entire trip. I wish I could go back for another feed here. Good selection of beers and food was sensational and cheap.

We had been walking at Hareshaw Linn and were on our way back home when we decided to stop for food here, and we were so glad we did! The pub was very inviting and the staff quickly seated us in the restaurant. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but that soon changed as we ate our meal. The... More
