We dropped in without knowing what to expect and found really pleasant decor and friendly, helpful staff. The selection was unusua and I was tempted with some of the interesting sounding sandwiches, but decided on traditional fish and chips, despite the expensive price tag of £13.99! The portions were enormous however and the quality of the fish excellent. I liked... More

Thank you for taking the time to review The Angel Sally. I will be sure to pass your lovely comments on to the relevant teams, our Angel's do a fab job here. Living in Northumberland, we are very lucky to have some of the best local produce in the country, right on our doorstep, so we do use fresh, local... More

We were fortunate to find a place to dine in Corbridge when we arrived late on 23rd December, having driven the long road up from south Wales. This town has some very good eating places, and we were lucky to find this place as everywhere was fully booked. The Angel is a welcoming and busy hotel, with an excellent range... More

Lovely review thank you, and we hope your enjoyed your festivities in the North East. We like to only take bookings for our restaurant on busy evenings so that there is still an option for walk ins to dine with us, as we do get very busy. The fish is delicious here, and like you say very fresh and local,... More

A short walk from our relations new home to the main street in Corbridge for an impromptu pub lunch at this popular venue. Given that it was New year bank holiday, the staff coped well with a large number of customers on the day. We were some of the last to arrive and consequently endured a rather draughty spot right... Thank you for your kind review, I am glad you enjoyed your experience at The Angel, albeit a little blustery over New Year in good old Northumberland. We are very proud of our menu, so am glad you were pleased with the options and execution of the dishes. Our staff have had a very busy time over Christmas and New... More

Came here for a lunch with my family. the place is beautiful but the food was disappointing. the steak sandwiches and beef sandwiches were very dry and tasteless, though my sister had scampi and my brother in law had fish and they enjoyed their meals

Good morning Tori, Thank you for your review and feedback and glad you liked the atmosphere and style. Our steak and beef is top quality, sourced from local farms and are one amongst the most popular and praised items on our menu, so I apologise that you didn't enjoy yours. I will certainly pass on your comments to the kitchen... More

Popped in for lunch after a long walk, we thought it would be too busy but the waitress soon found us a quiet table in the upper restaurant area. The Christmas decorations were lovely and it was peaceful too! So good to be able to easily talk when everywhere else so busy. I had an amazing minute steak sandwich with... More

Visited for lunch in the restaurant with a 4 year old and a 92 year old. We had a wide range of food including beef, sea bass, fish and chips and pizza and enjoyed it all. The deserts were also interesting and delicious. The service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry and all had a pleasant... More

Thank you for your 4 star review. I am glad you had a lovely pre Christmas family meal, it is what the festive season is all about. We did have a very busy lead up to Christmas, and served over 9000 meals over December, but when it takes a little longer, we are attentive in the gaps to ensure you... More

Was here yesterday for lunch. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, no toast with the game terrine (had no taste anyway). Expected a nice slice of Turkey only to be given sliced that came from the supermarket, under cooked veg. and a large potato cut in half. Still had to pay full price (£44) for 2 people, although we did... More

Dear Lizzie, I find it odd that you would post your only 2 reviews ever, both regarding 1 visit to the Angel Inn. One of which you have left on The Angel accommodation page, even though you have never stayed here and in fact have only eaten here on one occasion. I can only presume what your intent is using... Minor issue but a half a thin slice of brown bread does not go down well with a fairly substantial bowl of soup. There also seems to be a need for some extra staff during the Xmas period. We waited for 30 minutes for our lunch to arrive. I can't understand what is happening with The Angel. It used to... More

Thank you for your review and feedback Lizzie, I have passed on your comments to the kitchen, as the bread served with our soup should not have been 'thin' they are quite substantial wedges of bread. We do, as with every popular pub, have busy periods during December... this is not necessarily due to lack of staff but sheer volume... More
