Our visit coincided with unseasonably warm weather and so we were able to dine on the terrace which has wonderful views. The food and service are first class and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Good menu and fairly priced wines.

WE were recommended by a near by B&B. We were not disappointed. We had Foie Gras Entree and Boeuf Angus for main and a bottle of Chateau Montner for good measure. Truly a nice diner. Would certainly return if in the area.

You don't need our review because you have so many wonderful comments, and rightly so. Gorgeous, inspired food. Lovely staff. Great atmosphere AND value for money. Definitely the best place to eat for miles

It would seem the unlikeliest place to find a restaurant - away from the main square or shoppin streets - but, high on a hill overlooking a splendid view, is this little gem. We booked well in advance - luckily, as it turned out - and ambled up the steep hill for an evening meal to remember. The friendly English... More

This is the third time I have eaten here the food is really first class. The prawn starter is lovely and it was followed by a really succulent and tender steak. Great food and service would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Having lived in the area for 15 years we had never tried this restaurant despite it having been recommended to us on many occasions. We ate here 15 years too late! Food was great, service was great and as I said in the title "stunning views". We sat out on the terrace on a lovely August evening and watched it... More

We stayed in Vernet for a week as a group and our party leader booked Le Cortal based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. We weren't disappointed. The views were amazing from the terrace and we loved the food. We had the hot stone steak and lamb which was delicious. Desserts were lovely too. The owner was very friendly... More

Small pretty bistrot type restaurant situated in the old part of Vernet with glorious views out over the valley and mountains and interior seating in an old stable for the colder months or inclement weather. Informal honest food with friendly service. Booking highly recommended as our capacity is extremely limited. Bookings are accepted and welcomed but choice of table is on a first come first served basis.
