We picked our US guests up from the airport on a beautiful Melbourne summers day and headed for the picturesque views of the Sandbar Cafe for lunch. We'd enjoyed brunch here before and this was our first time for lunch. There are no bookings over summer and we easily got a table outside for 4 at 1pm on a Wednesday... More

Great location, nice portion sizes, and the staff are friendly. Only complaint was that it was expensive, but its to be expected from a sea front cafe.

What a gorgeous place to have lunch, or any meal really. Although the day was a tad bleak, it was still lovely to be able to gaze at the beach while dining. The food was superb, the meals were a good size and well presented. The starters were generous as well, making them a more than adequate lunch meal. Everyone... More

Found this place midweek heading down to st kilda. Late lunch on a Tuesday on a nice day, sat outside in sun. Have to order inside at bar but no big deal. Friend ordered fajitas and I had calamari. Calamari beautiful and good size for lunch. Type of place where you could sit all day if weather was right .... More

The place is amazing! Too busy on weekends but on weekdays you cannot find better spot in Melbourne. Visited for breakfast with friend and dog . Staff was so attentive and pets loving. Food is ok . Still my favourite spot !

Wonderful location to sit and watch the waves roll into shore whilst enjoying the company of friends and family. Food is good, service excellent and often crowded and noisy but go early and you will enjoy your surroundings. Very busy on weekends so beware of this. Parking is also often an issue.

Great location, but that's where it ends. For the price, I'd expect better quality food. All our breakfasts came out separately over about a 20min period. We finished breakfast before our coffees were delivered. Outside on the deck is a great spot but looks and feels dirty with the old worn table and chairs and rubbish laying on the ground.... More

Very busy possibly due to its location, varied menu choice, with a selection of snacks and main meals, also a good drinks selection, staff are friendly and plenty of them, take your table number to the counter and food is served to you, we only had drinks as we thought the food was pricey for what you got, again probably... Breakfast, lunch or dinner - such a lovely atmosphere on the beach. Little bit pricey but typical for this location. Good service.

The location is great for a warm day and so I decided to stay and ordered the calamari salad which was very nice with just the right amount of spice. The meal was delivered to the table quickly. Having ordered and paid for a drink to go with the meal, I still had to track down two staff members on... More
