This place is almost attached to my housing area - so I literally have access to a giant running park full of mature trees that provides cover from the blistering sun even in the harshest of afternoons, undulating jogging trail that weaves in and out, cycling, exercise facilities and if my fancy takes me, host friends and family to Skytrek.
For families with big and small kids visiting Melaka, this place also is home to T Rex, Brontosaraus (did I spell this right?) and it's kind - for Instagram worthy moments and for kids to run around the many nooks and crannies within the park they can play in.
Recommended!

They provide varieties....the local choices were good. I don't quite like the western menu. It used to be very nice but I was quite disappointed when I came again in Sept.

My husband and I had lunch here and were very impressed. We had noodle and chicken dishes that were something special. Both meals were well presented and beautifully cooked and seasoned. We also enjoyed the exquisite juice mixtures we ordered, with a lemon grass flavor.There was hardly anyone there when we went so maybe it is a hidden treasure. If you are at the zoo, the botanikal gardens or any other attraction in the area, this could be well worth a visit. My compliments to the chef.

This cafe named Cafe Botanikal may sound a bit misleading.... as it is more than just a cafe! There are two section, one section is the cafe and the other a banquet hall which can easily accomodate 450 pax. It offers a variety of cusine ranging from Western, Chinese down to Malay and Nyonya and one can have ala carte, daily set lunch ( for those who a quick bite ) or dinner set meals and it is value for money. It is strategically located just five minutes from the Ayer Keroh toll hence visitors to Malacca can drop in for sumptous value for money meal either before they proceed to visit the historical city or on their way back to where ever they come from as the cafe also offers ample car parking facilities instead of the hassle of finding a car parking space in the town. I was told that the celebrity chef Martha Steward from United States visited this popular cafe on the invitation of the Chief Minister of Malacca.
Oh yes the cafe is just one minute's drive from the ever popular lastest Melaka Wonderland water theme park which offers a fun filled day outing with families and friends. Some of my friends who have been there on a family day outing organised by his company said the park also have a dinosour park next to it, games machine, paint ball shooting and go-cart racing and the whole family enjoyed it very much. What the park lack of is a hotel next to it so that visitors to the park can also put up a night there.

If you happen to coast downtown to Melaka during the Ramadhan month (a holy month of fasting for the Muslim), be sure to make a beeline for Cafe Botanikal, just about 800m after exiting from Ayer Keroh Toll. It's right next to the Botanical Garden (hence the name...) and it offers a wide range of delectable menu for the Berbuka Buffet. There's roast lamb, succulent satays, wok-fried noodles, asam fishes, gulai daging, ayam masak merah, rendangs and an array of deserts which are supervised by renowned Chef Nina (who was featured in the recent Aroma mag). The price for the sumptuous meal for my family of 4 (2A+2C) came to only RM126 which is a far cry from what you pay in a renowned restaurant in KL. Even celebrity Martha Stewart has given her approval for this restaurant!!
Truly a sanctuary for the foodlovers!

The place is a very nice place to be because it offers genuinely sumptious food.Besides that, the ambiance is very very beautiful. This place is the place to be for those who enjoy peace and quiet. It also certainly is the place for solitary diner to be there.

The sour chocolate cake is crazy... just wrapped it up for the kids to eat... just noticed that the cake is rotten... next time, check the cake carefully before serving. My child has a stomach ache and a lot of diarrhea
