This lovely restaurant serves some of the nicest fish and seafood on Belle Ile . The setting is wonderful and on a hot summer's day the outside terrace covered with large parasols makes for a perfect place to linger over lunch . Why not 5 stars then? Well the lady who served us was very surly and whilst we don't... More

The ambience can be charitably described as pleasant. The service is adequate. It's the food that made us come here for two meals during our stay on Belle Ile and we loved them both. Oysters, palourdes, bigorneau, shrimp, langoustines, mullet, Dover sole, everything we had was superbly fresh and when cooking was required it was done just right. After you... More

We've eaten at le Bernardin both in Paris and NY. This place blows it away. Seafood platter(oysters. Shrimp. Langoustines, little and big sea snails) superb at €33. I had their set menu. I chose fresh sardines, mullet and apple tart. €22. Friendly service. "La cale" means boat ramp or launch because fishermen and other boaters often the tie up there.... More

This is a first class operation from start to finish. Looking at the reviews they were kind of old, but I don't think there could possible anything on the island to match their, service, atmosphere, presentation, freshness, taste, and value. Got here early for lunch and the basically empty patio was completely booked. I don't give ratings this high very... More

We loved this small café. The service was personable. The oysters were delicious. The fish was fresh and wonderfully prepared and presented. A good offering of all types of food on the menu for appetizers, main course, and desserts. We returned a second time for dinner and enjoyed it even more. Great hosts. Make a reservation to be sure you... More

A great little seafood restaurant snuggled into the corner of the small fishing village of Sauzon. Amazing seafood platters and fish, that although looks light on the plate fills you up. Nice choice of wines to go with what you order, though being where it is, pricey! Would definitely go again.

Having eaten at Cafe de la Cale for many years I have to say the quality remains at a high level which is great... You get fresh fish, basically what you are coming for... This time I had black sole which was very fresh...super delicious...but as a side dish only one potato...that's a bit too minimalistic... My parents had a... More

This is cited as Sauzon's premiere restaurant and is in a sheltered corner on the harbour. We loved the food: beautiful stuffed crab entree to share, turbot and sole mains and a bottle of wine, all for eur100. But the service was cool, and most patrons were rushed through within an hour.

Honest to French goodness great French food served with style and washed down with some lovely white wine. Deserves its popularity- very busy with locals and smart tourists.
