The lunch I had was simple and very enjoyable. From my understanding this restaurant was also a military hospital for period of time while allied troops held position in Oosterbeek (Market Garden). Memorial artifacts are throughout the restaurant - perfect, prior to visiting the Airborne museum. You can see before and after pictures of this property and the whole area... More

Spent some time at the commemoration week in the schoonard. Great place to meet up with the veterans and the locals. It well known due to the fact it was a field hospital at the battle. Hence it has plenty of atmosphere therein. It can get pretty busy in.the evenings but the staff are well trained for these evenings. Worth... More

We had a 4 day break in the Area for the 72nd anniversary of Operation Market Garden. Schoonoord is the centre of the activity. Excellent food/drink and the service is first class. It get's extremely busy but that is not at the detriment of the service. You must give it a try.

I have been here for a pizza in their take away restaurant. Great service and kindness from the personnel. The pizzaiolo is a real Italian guy. Pizza was ok for Dutch standards.

My husband and I went here for dinner. Two different waitresses waited on us - one of them brought menus and then the other came by and asked if we wanted menus. I ordered lasagna which was very ordinary. Microwaved from frozen. Salad on the salad. My husband ordered stuffed pasta with fish and cheese. It arrived drenched in tomato... More

Living history with great food added in. Simply looking around the walls you can see how valued and important this pub was during September 1944. A must do for anyone visiting the area for the history.

WE were in the town visiting my Uncle's war grave and needed to eat. We had previously visited this restaurant for morning coffee and got directions to the cemetery. The staff are friendly and multi-lingual. The restautrant had been used as an allied military first aid post/ field hospital during WWII
