The title says it all. I ordered the cod, which looked magnificent. The taste was even better and the combination of flavors was great. The staff was very friendly and I was overwhelmed by the extras (amuse, seasoned popcorn, etc.). Would definitely recommend this place. It is wise to make a reservation as it is located on a main street and fills up quickly.

Absolutely fabulous. My favourite restaurant while I was living in the Netherlands. Since I've moved to the U.S. this is one of the things I mis most. The wine pairing is better than most places, the food is amazing. I always take the surprise menu. Whenever I'm in the Netherlands I go back at least once, last time I went back 3 times in 2 weeks. If you're looking for an amazing dining experience, love good wine pairing, want great hosting in a stunningly beautiful village at a reasonable price, this is where you should go. By the way, I'm Dutch, so I'm not exaggerating, If I wouldn't like it I'd be blunt about that as well.

We selected this restaurant because it offered a different menu than what we usually find in the Dutch restaurants in this region. It was also one of the few Italian restaurants whose main menu item is not Pizza.
We were immediately impressed by the lovely interior. We were offered menus and, even though I can read most menus in Dutch, I was not offered a menu in English. When dealing with well prepared culinary dishes there are oftentimes terms that one not fluent in Dutch is unable to understand.
For my main entrée I ordered what was billed as a fillet mignon. What I received was a slice of poor quality beef. When eating fillet it should be so tender that you should be able to slice it with only a fork. But there I was dragging my knife back-and-forth across this poor quality meat to cut it. That was indicative of the taste or lack there of. This totally ruined my dining experience.
Both my husband and I mentioned that the dish was unacceptable yet the manager only said he would speak to the chef. I was not offered another entrée or, as has been the case with other fine dining establishments, complementary desserts.
We paid the bill and we left never to return again.
My advice: proceed with caution and an abundance of cash. Caveat emptor.

Went to this restaurant based on reviews / ratings.
Food is OK, no more than that.
We had simple orders, nothing special but it took ages before we were served, while place was almost empty.
This is now second similar experience, so not likely that i will return.

Just returned from a wonderful diner with friends at Da Pietro. We choose the suprise menu which consists of four courses. We let these courses be joined by complementary wines. And complementary they were. After some startup problems (busy evening) everything just clicked. The service, the food, the wine. Just go there and experience it.

I eat at Da Pietro many times and held bigger and smaller parties/celebrations here, which are always exactly as I hoped for as Pietro and Hetty full with nice ideas and because the restaurant (interior and patio-wise) cater perfectly for it. The great thing is that you can also 'hop by' for a shorter, casual dinner. I love that they change the food with the seasons and make inspiration-trips to Pietro's home-country every year to get inspired. Because of this, the menu changes regularly so that there is always something new to try. Absolute quality (and real-italian food) for your money.

What a great find in the lovely town of Elburg. The surprise of the chef was outstanding! The pizza was superbe too but regretted not having taken something from the menu! With the biological wine and the excellent service the evening was a huge succes

We went here to celebrate a birthday with friends - and we're so glad we did! It's a gorgeous restaurant in a charming little town, with a beautiful terrace in front to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon (though inside is lovely and cosy, I can imagine it's perfect in Winter too!) The food is Italian, with unusual regional specialities and favourite family recipes. On a Sunday they lay the bar out buffet style, with a fantastic array of dishes - I'm still dreaming of those baked eggs in tomatoes and leeks! Take a plate and go up as often as you want. We were completely stuffed by the time we left! As vegetarians, we were thrilled to see how many options they had for us. Brilliant place with fantastic, friendly staff (thank you Hetty and Gerritjan - hope we spelt that right!)

Recently visited this restaurant with my friend. The restaurant has two ding rooms, the main one at the entrance and one at the back. The one at the back is more pleasant, but we ha door place reserved at the entrance. We went for the 3 course menu and for the main meal we had the Pesce Rosso (roodbaarsfilet) and the Pettine di Vitello (kalfsoester). The first one was very good, the latter a little bit chewy. We enjoyed it a lot. The service was great and we even even enjoyed a free Limoncello at the end. We will surely be back again....

On the way back from a business trip North we diverted to Da Pietro in Elburg, which is rumoured to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Gelderland and wide surroundings.
Elburg is a small ancient Dutch Fisherman's city that has kept most it's character. This makes Elburg worth a visit. Many of the shops are owned by families rather than corporations, which makes it a treat to browse for shopping items.
Well, let me not keep you in suspense any longer, Da Pietro is as good as is rumoured. Be sure to reserve, or be very very Lucky like we were.
All amuses and dishes of the 4 course (surprise) menu were excellent. Da Pietro served me the best ossobuco I ever had in my entire life. The Ossobuco remained it's form and the meat melted at every bite.
The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is warm to romantic, so it is perfect to share with your loved ones, good friends and long time business friends.
The decoration, the high quality condiments and the brown bakery bag with the bread in it on the table, the food and the service makes this restaurant a special experience.
I would not mind driving for more than an hour and then back just to have dinner here.

During our boating holiday we discovered the restaurant Da Pietro in Elburg. Even if the owner is not Italian, we surprisingly received the typical Italian menu order - aperetif, antipasti, first course, second course, side dishes and dolci - which reminded us of holidays in Tuscany.
Fresh, regional ingredients prepared with wonderfully delicious food. The service took time to advise us on the menu order, so that each of us got exactly the food he liked very much. Likewise, the advice on beverage accompaniment was just super good.
Love of food products, passion to spoil people - all this combined makes Da Pietro what we expect to be a successful Italian meal.
And our expectations were exceeded: Taste explosions due to the clever combination of food and its preparation. We were all three happy and satisfied. Super tasty food with matching beverage accompaniment in welcoming cozy surroundings as well as super friendly and consistently competent staff. The amount we paid was as expected and matched the extraordinarily good dishes.
Thank you for the nice stay in "Italy" during our holiday in the Netherlands.
