Superb fish soup!

It’s hard for Cherry Wonderdog not to sing praises for Or’t Olde Regthuys after savoring the best meal of our bike trip here. The lady in charge swore that her fish soup was the best in town, and after trying a bowl, I would be hard pressed to imagine anything better. The restaurant is located dead center of Elburg, one of the cutest, most beautiful little fishing villages I’ve ever seen. For 10€, I was served a generous bowl of soup – a cross between a chowder and bouillabaisse. It was creamy, but there was a slight tomato edge as well, and it was stocked with massive amounts of seafood. We’re talking salmon, clams, shrimp, haddock, and who knows what else. Garnished with fresh parsley and accompanied by fresh whole grain bread and butter. It was absolutely delicious. Five stars all the way!

Super nice place to eat in Elburg. The chef was only too happy to make a vegan meal. The staff were very friendly and restaurant clean and tastefully decorated. All food was super and everyone enjoyed their meal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Super good food. We all got fish and it was so good and fresh. Our kid 10y wanted fish and chips so they made it in a kid portion. We ware all full and happy when we left Elburg a lovely old city.

High tea

Together with our family we used a coupon for a high tea. This was a gift coupon. At arrival we were overwhelmed by the nice Christmas atmosphere. Table was ready and we could start by choosing from a large variety of tea. Next the food arrived. A huge variety of warm finger food, including small soup, sandwiches, sweet cakes, chocolate and cookies were put on the table. All of a high quality and very tasteful. What a great way to start our Christmas holidays. Thanks and hope to visit you again in the new year.

Enjoying holiday

My wife and I had diner. Great and fast service. The waitress was very friendly and smiling when ever she passed our table. It was a nice summer evening so we sat outside. The most spectacular dish was the dessert. I had the so called "pana cotta trekdrop" I would call it the licorice pudding. Amazing. Never tasted anything like this. Being a huge licorice fan I loved it. This place is by far our favorite restaurant in our home town Elburg.

We celebrated my mum's 80th birthday party in the room upstairs. The 3 course meal was very, very good, the service was attentive and the atmosphere brilliant. I can not recommend this restaurant enough!!

Nice terrace, good food

We have been here twice recently and really enjoyed dining on the terrace on a warm evening. The restaurant 't Olde Regthuys is located right in the heart of the lovely village Elburg. Part of the terrace is covered and has heaters, so it can also be used on cool days. The young staff is kind, service rapid, the choice on the menu is large enough and reasonably priced. The food is fresh, well tasting, well presented, without being haute cuisine. On certain evenings it can get full, so maybe make a reservation if you want to sit outside. A nice place to dine if you are in for an honest, simple dinner of good quality for a reasonable price.

Stopped for coffee and returned for lunch!

Our waitress spoke some English but was determined to try to help us understand the menu in dutch. My husband chose the burger and I had the wiener schnitzel with mushrooms and onions; this was our first meal out in the Netherlands and we were not disappointed. The schnitzel was completely covered with onions and mushrooms and was very tasty. The restaurant is right in the middle of Elburg, a small town which we enjoyed exploring. Would recommend.

Nice break!

We had lunch here on Saturday 11th. Very nice terrace, a proper menu for a lunch, with sulla traditional and some less combination. I've tried the goat cheese with honey and appel/dadels salade, definitely tasty! The typical Uitsmijter also was pretty good. The bread used on both dishes was delicious, especially the full-grain one with walnut. Interior was also quite nice. Eventually, I would replace the toilet wooden floor for something different.. It can be a bit smelly. Overall, a really nice break in town!

Food is really good, with great service

Not in many restaurants where staffs try to speak English. Staff here tried and it was nice of him. He even offered us English menu. Simple fried egg and ham with cheese is really good. Warm ham with honey mustard is also delicious. This place is pet friendly because even dog is served with water. Recommended!!!

Charming, authentic bistro serving delicious lunch

Too cold and windy to sit at the charming outdoor tables, but indoors was cosy....and packed with locals (always a good sign). We seemed to be the only English speaking customers, but wait-staff were patient and produced an English menu. It was so crowded we had to sit at the bar to eat, but it was quaint and had a congenial atmosphere -- yet not too noisy. We were delighted we stayed. Farmers omelette stuffed with fresh local produce was incredible, as was the multigrain bread. My partners, open carpaccio sandwich was also a winner. Only complaint was that they served margarine instead of butter with the outstanding bread.

Wonderful tapas

My girlfriend had enjoyed tapas here the week before. And it was the right decision to return here again. 't Olde Regthuys is situated right in the middle of the historic centre of Elburg. We thoroughly enjoyed a variety of tapas dishes with some interesting Dutch wine. The staff is great here. They really make sure you feel at home. This will certainly not be the last time we have visited this restaurant

We had dinner here last night with 2 adults and 2 kids on the terrace and it was exceptional. Great, friendly service, delicious food (we had the mussels and the kids had fish) and overall a lovely atmosphere. For me the best place to be in Elburg!
