It is one of our favourite Japanese restaurants in Singapore. So a trip to Tokyo wouldn't be complete without a visit to the original Ginza store for our favourite Tonkatsu. We had a little difficulty in locating the restaurant and there was a line when we got there at lunch hour. But it moved quickly enough and we were soon... More

After trying out Singapore's franchise Ginza Bairin, I came to the Original Ginza Bairin in Tokyo with great expectation. The Original didn't disappoint me at all. In fact, it was one of the best Tonkatsu I had throughout my trip. Despite the menu comes in a Full Pictorial Japanese Menu and a wordy English Menu, the staff were nice enough... More

Went there after reading the TripAdvisor recommendations - definitely good Tonkatsu with nice sauce to be had. I recommend to go just for the 1000 Yen Tonkatsu; I got the 2.900 Yen special and except for having a bit more meat (not much) and fat, it was exactly the same as my wife's 1000 Yen dish. Definitely not worth the... More

One of the best pork cutlet I've eaten! Crispy and juicy you get the option to drizzle as much katsu sauce as you want. Try it with some mustard that they have as well - yum yum yum!

Who is passing by Ginza in Tokyo, needs to try this amazing tonkatsu! The meat is really tasty and soft! Never tried a tonkatsu like I had there... always go there when I'm around! You won't regret if you eat it!!

Every time I go to Tokyo/Japan, I always eat here and at Otako, which serves oden. This place serves the best tonkatsu I've had in Tokyo. I recommend the pork filet tonkatsu, for which 4-5 healthy portions of pork cutlet are provided. The outside is crispy due to the high temperature fryer they use and the meat is very tender.... It's rare to find a spacious restaurant like this one in Tokyo. The tonkatsu was good, juicy and tender pork with rice. Service was great, the waitress was able to speak & understand English. And they do have a menu in English. Price is about ¥2000 for a meal set.

Absolutely amazing tonkatsu! While it was a bit pricey, it was well worth it and a true Japanese tonkatsu experience. The traditional tonkatsu cutlets were huge, tender and so flavorful. The staff were wonderfully accommodating and there were English menus available. The menu had some options other than tonkatsu available. The unique and delicious tonkatsu sauce is made in-house and... More
