My partner and I have been eating here for years. The food is excellent, the staff super-friendly, the ambiance cozy, the place clean and not steamy. I generally savor the curries and tandoori chicken, of course the nan and a bottle or two of Indian brew. From the west exit of Meguro Station, walk down the left fork of Meguro... More

I agree with the other reviewers that this restaurant has lost some of its magic over the past year or two. I used to eat here quite a bit and always thought they offered some of the most authentic and tasty Indian food in Tokyo. We recently went back and while nothing was terrible, most of the dishes were underwhelming.... More

Gave this place another try, but it was terrible. This time the smoke was so heavy we could hardly breathe, let alone taste the food. And one of us got sick from the Tandoori chicken. Avoid!

Enjoyed both the curry and the kebabs here. You can get a Guinness, which is great for a Tokyo curry restaurant. Alos, while I am not sure if it is officially smoke-free, I have never seen anyone smoking in there - such a refreshing change to find a clean restaurant in Japan. think I will become a regular.

Visited this place many times over the last Ten years always been expensive and average but neat if you have visited the tavern This time the food was rancid the chicken curry was Luke warm and scolding in the same mouthful The shami kebab was unedible and cold as I asked for it as a main and it came before... I've been visiting this restaurant on and off for the past 18 years, since I first discovered it. It's excellent, with great staff who always remember a familiar face, no matter how long they have been away. It's not over-priced, and the quality of the food is superb. I had several curries over the first few years before trying and... More

A friend raved about this place, so my expectations were quite high. I had just spent the previous week in south India and was looking forward to this meal. I ordered the mutton curry and tandoori chicken. The curry was delicious; the tandoori was so-so. The two round out to an average rating.

Had the house special mixed platter with a beer and it was great. Salad, tandoori, curry, dessert, all very well prepared. Having a British pub next door didn't hurt either. A fine neighborhood stop. Second visit had a channa masala. Nice flavor but thin.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
