Despite being in the heart of Shinjuku noise, Kakiden offers truly authentic Japanese cuisine backed by hundreds of years of Tea Ceremony tradition. Everything, including sake, is offered so that the Tea could be enjoyed... More

Very pleasant, well established restaurant on the east side of the Shinjuku Station. Very difficult to find (in our opinion) as it is located on one of the upper floors of the building. Recommend to research the exit of the train station if one is not familiar with the area and on foot. Although, regrettably, we arrived very late to... More

This Japanese Restaurant, in descent from a school of tea ceremony (Omote-Senke), is one of my favorite in Shinjuku. Dishes are beutiful, forever-stylish, and delicious. I hope you'll have chance to deepen profound knowledge on spirit of Japanese taste and take pleasure in hospitality of CHANOYU. Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
