Came by for lunch the other day and it was an okay experience. There were numerous pictures outside showcasing what was offered inside. Ordering was done via the vending machine and there were photos in addition to #s to help with the ordering process. Was warmly welcomed by the staff upon entering. Started off with the chicken Karaage which was... More

Make sure you order at the machine outside before entering, take your tickets inside and await the food. To start the process with the menu put money in then select from the menu. Once inside you will receive a good welcome and great noodle soup. The meat dumplings are excellent too.

A surprising ramen shop with taste of Kansai. They have a soup sommelier in shop to control soup quality. Very serious.

A surprising ramen shop with taste of Kansai, light and fresh and veggie. Apparently I found most of the ramen noodles in Tokyo were a bit too salty oily and in thick soup. In this special Kamukura ramen shop it has a soup sommelier (tasting chef) who I saw him frequently taste soup broth quite seriously. That is one of... More

We found thus place on our way back to the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku ( the Godzilla hotel !) We were tired and after a slight one day in Tokyo with near zero Japanese language between the two of us, we thought to goive it a try. We were looking for dumplings and fried chicken. We were relieved. This place seemed... More

I'm vegetarian. I paid for a ramen with pork in the machine and the chef refunded me for the price of the pork. Amazing.

The empty lot, now a resting space used to be used for queuing to get into Kamkura. Not anymore. Get to the ticket machine and buy your meal. A lot of options. The soup is really delicious and I had no trouble finishing it all. A good efficient ramen system and bright clean eating conditions. Good.

Wandering the lanes of Shinjuku while my wife was in Don Quiojote 1-16-5 Kabuki-cho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo I stumbled on Kamakura two blocks down. This place is bright and clean and easy and really popular. Ordering is easy from the printed menu in English. Really enjoyed the ramen with Kim Chee. An hour later that familiar MSG dryness began, which was... More

Tried its award winning Ramen for 2014 and was delighted with the serving, soup base clear and tasty. Would definetely go back. Its not too far from Hotel Gracery, located at a corner just before the hotel if you ate coming from JR station. Self paying and its pretty easy with pictures to guide your selection. Must try !!

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
