Tempura here is made using low heat and constant monitoring of specialized Itamae(correct name for Japanese Chef). All the ingredients are exceptionally fresh and they only offer the best seasonal fish and seafood. Avoid Lunch time, usually full of business man, prefer early dinner or late lunch. To drink, Green Tea is the best but asking for a beer is... More

Once again another amazing restaurant with traditional Japanese that is oddly presented with a flair of western culture. I cannot rate this whole hotel better for being the perfect attraction for someone wanting to experience the whole Japanese culture but default to western food if you desire to. Personally bring on the traditional Japanese anytime, and again they may not... More

A truly exceptional sushi dinner the night before was a tough act to follow, but the food and service and Tempurashun was very good and perfectly timed so that we never felt rushed or bored with the meal. Tempurashun is a smaller restaurant conveniently located in the Keio Plaza Hotel on the quiet 7th floor, which makes it even more... More

Lovely small tempura restaurant located in the Keio Plaza Hotel - note this restaurant appears twice in Trip Advisor, also listed under "Tempurashun". We chose from the set menu choices and loved what we were served. A variety of fish and vegetables. The chef and staff were incredibly gracious and English menu is available.

Located in the 7th floor of the Keio Plaza Hotel. Great tempura. Batter just thin enough for texture and the freshest seafood and vegetables. Especially liked the calimari, eggplant and shrimp head tempura. Loved the matcha salt. A bit pricy, but that was expected. Very few seats so reservations are suggested.

Our group of seven had a good time, and we ate well. Enjoyed blowfish for the first time, as well as many other types of seafood, both sushi and tempura.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
