They have English menu and we found this place to be better than Ichiran. You can customize your order (firmness of noodles) and they have self serve garlic you can crush and put in your ramen. Had 5 gyozas as well...they are small.

We found this place by accident because Mutekiya was crowded (as usual). Upon further review, I realized they had branches in the Bay Area. Anyway, I tried it and it was good but definitely not amazing like Mutekiya. The pork was thin and not thick like in the picture. The broth though was very good and the noodles had good... More

Seems a rather obvious title when you're familiar with Japan but while some of Ippudo's branches do actually have a veggie stock using sesame (goma) - this one definitely doesn't. Took a bit of asking to figure it out but this one at least at our time of visiting used all pork broth, while it is a soy base it... More

Ramen taste depends on noodle and the soup. The noodle, thin and straight of Hakata (southern Japan) fashion was delicious! You get to choose "white" (regular tonkotsu) or "red" (spicy) soup. Also hot or cold.

Ippudo is a well-known chain of ramen restaurants serving Hakata-style ramen. The store in Ikebukuro occupies a corner lot and is a little larger than your typical small ramen place. I also felt that the decor was above average. The main reason I wanted to try Ippudo is to compare to the time I ate at Ippudo back in Kuala... More

This is a famous chain and the place in Ikekuburo does not disappoint. The ramen comes in different versions of course and this place although smallish is still comfortable and one does not get the feeling of being squeezed in. The ramen is very very good but the location take some finding, therefore please do some research before coming to... More

I had read about this ramen chain and was curious to try it as they mentioned that the broth was very special and made a big different to the whole taste of the ramen they serve. I can confirm it is to die for and my japanese friends also admitted it was excellent and top quality and taste! Their gyoza... More

Ippudo Tokyo (not new york) is my favorite ramen place in Tokyo not only for its excellent taste but also because its very accessible. Its like a 711 of ramen cause it can easily be found everywhere. Shoyu ramen is a must order....gyoza and the rice topping is also a must. Some branches are a bit dirty and needs some... More
