This how sushi should be made, all fresh products. The 🍣 sushi is made while you wait and having a nice conversation everything is made so you see what products are used. If you want less or more wasabi. We took the 10 nigiri set menu together with the soup and the sweet beans for desert it was very good.... More

I was brought here by a friend who grew up in the area. He says it is one of the best sushi places. I was blown away by the quality of the fish and the talent of the chef. It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for an authentic high quality sushi experience. They are very friendly and can... More

I've been visiting Kanpachi more than 10 years as the owner sheff's sushi skill is uncomparable to any other sushi bars. For the past several years, they lowered the target average price, the fish quality level has gone done to some extent and instead there are full of newer customers. The owner sheff provides many invisible skills to each different... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
