Although we waited quite a while for our breakfast it was worth the wait. The food was cooked from fresh ingredients and the mushrooms were cooked in spinach. The staff were friendly although I felt the place needed a good clean or maybe just a fresh touch of paint. The shop/ cafe within sold traditional sodas, beers and even some... More

Had lunch with friends here on Christmas eve. The food was delicious, all fresh ingredients and made from scratch. The staff were friendly, and very accommodating. They even moved the furniture around to fit us in! Will definitely visit again.

Popped in for lunch with the family, tried the Christmas special sandwich, the corn beef hash and ordered a plain ham sandwich for our little one. Food here is all homemade and delicious. Been here several times and it never disappoints. The quality of the ingredients is evident; the ham on my sons sandwich was thick and dry, not your... More

My friend and I had been here once before and had a "chip butty", not a normal chip butty, it had everything on it. Today my friend who is vegetarian had vegetarian burger which she declared was the best ever, along with the chilli jam, so much so she bought some to take home. I had a honey & mustard... More

Our daughter and son-in-law took us to The Source for a North African taster dinner. Apparently the owner Paul, every so often, produces taster menus from around the world. Each course had a beer or wine chosen by Paul to compliment the food. I do not know the price of the meal as our daughter treated us, but my goodness,... More

So disappointing. Food is bland , even macrel pate was lacking flavour. We had ploughman's plater (if you can call it that ) , we have been trying to guess what flavour was the tart (without any success) , pastry was oily yet hard , wasabi coleslaw was more sour than anything else and potato salad was less pleasant than... I had to pop into Ormskirk to drop something off but had to put an hour on my car park ticket. Hadn't had brekkie so decided to pop into this cafe that I'd spotted last week. How glad am I that I did. I had the tastiest bacon and egg butty (on ciabatta) that I had had for a long... More

Was looking forward to trying here after reading the reviews. The café inside looked rather shabby and I didn't think there was a good range of deli items for sale. Seated upstairs we ordered food. THIRTY FIVE minutes later we were still waiting for our food and were just about to walk out when we were told we would be... More

Truly geeky about food and drink, always an education and always adding a new entry to my list of favourite beers. Mild Life Crisis straight in at no.2!
