On a bright and bracing November morning, how lovely to have a stroll at Sandsend (and you can even get parked at this time of year!) then pop into the Sandside Cafe for a welcoming pot of tea. For hardy souls there is a good...amount of outdoor seating, and for the less inclined, (and perhaps more sensible) there is nice indoor seating with glorious views of the beach and sea. Having said that however, they have clearly spent a lot of money on the outdoor seating areas and one area has a roof and clear screens to keep the wind at bay, while the other areas have screens. There is a decent menu of hot and cold snacks and sandwiches at very reasonable prices, and the cakes are fabulous. And no holiday hordes to contend with - bliss! Highly recommended.More

Dropped in for coffee and cake as we were passing on our way back to Scarborough. I had a caramel hot chocolate and a white choc rocky Road cake. My husband had a cappuccino and a gingerbread cupcake. Service was friendly and fast. My hot...chocolate was gorgeous. It even came with cream and little chocolates on top. The cakes were gorgeous. We sat in the window and the view was amazing. Felt like the water was coming right up to you. Can't wait to visit here again 😍More

This cafe advertises that it is open until 4.15. We entered the cafe at 3.25pm this afternoon and stood in a queue until just after 3.30pm. Just as the lady in front of me had finished being served and had paid for her food and...refreshments including sandwiches, an older women who I recognised from their website as the owner came up to the young girl serving and looked at myself and the other four or five people in the queue and just said no more food. I was next to be served and asked for sandwiches and was told they had stopped serving food. I protested but I may as well been talking to the floor because there was no interest at all in what I was saying and the girl turned to serve the man behind me. Outside this pretentious establishment is a sign bemoaning a shortage of staff and asking customers to show respect to their staff who have turned up for work. Well Karen and Neil how about showing some respect for your customers first. It is clear that this establishment makes so much money that they don't care about letting their customers down. If you say you are open then serve your menu. Neil & Karen instead of bragging about what Conde Nast says about your crab sandwiches how about getting the basic of hospitality and customer service right as well as simple courtesy. I would know if Conde Nast are correct as I couldn't taste one due to your ignorant behaviour.More

Warm and cosy inside, bright and airy outside. The excellent menu has choices for everyone with many local products and lots of homemade items. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Great location right on the beach - weather just turned so we hopped in for a sarnie and a cuppa. My son had beans on toast - massive portion - and my wife had a Brie baguette which she enjoyed. My cheese and ham toastie...was ok nothing amazing, but the coffee and walnut cake was very good. Very busy though, we got straight in but then a huge queue formed and the door was left open for this queue and the wind blew through the cafe. Not their fault, selfish people in the queue.More

We stopped here 3 times in a week for a bacon & egg roll & coffees. It enjoys a great location right in the beach and has some outdoor seating which were a real sun trap. Simple menu - traditional breakfast favourites and good looking...range of cakes - all served with a smile and not overpriced. A little gem.More

Lovely fresh crab sandwich, well presented on the plate. This cafe has tables inside and on two terraces, one in the sun and one with some shade, so it was good to find one that suited on a sunny day. Lovely service too.

We stopped here for breakfast one morning. It was a gloriously sunny day, it felt like we were in Spain. The views are amazing. The breakfasts and coffee we had were excellent, reasonably priced too.

Fresh food, should stay open longer Fantastic views, pleasant staff, crab sandwich’s a delight. Do not confuse with the awful Wits End cafe in Sandsend. This is the one to eat at for snacks. Will be back

All depends on the weather, winter is usually long weekends only but if it is very sunny like is has been recently, they are open everyday
