Very good service and nice food. Mix of malaysian and western options sometimes in the same dish which was a bit weird but might be useful if your kids are are bit fussy. I had the red curry with beef, it came with rice, small corn chips and a nice salad/coleslaw on the side. As the name suggests set on a small pond/lake. Very close to orang-utans and sun bears, very short walk.

We were staying near by for one night and were really glad we tried out The Lake Bistro & Bar. The restaurant had really lovely decor on a lovely lake setting. The staff were great, really friendly and professional. The food was really good. We both had the carrot soup, delicious, followed by a Rendang and a sweet & sour prawns, again both great. You’ll pay a little more than other places locally but in my opinion it is reasonably priced and worth the money.

Some say their food is "Westernized" in a pejorative fashion but to many, including us, you long for Western food after having nothing besides local "cuisine" for some days.
And this place is like an oasis in a desert of nasi goreng or nasi campur etc. We loved it. Under $20 for an excellent meal for 2 with portions so large you struggle to finish them. And the setting by the lake is by far the nicest we saw, with lovely tapestries and plants hanging from San Miguel crates.

The location and atmosphere here is beautiful. We came for dinner so didn’t see the lake during daylight. Unfortunately the service was quite slow and two people had to take their meals back due to the taste being just wrong. They promptly cooked fresh meals and served, much better, someone definitely made an error in the kitchen. However I would return here, I’d try lunch to view the lake etc.

We visited here for lunch whilst the Orangutan Centre was closed for lunch. The setting was beautiful, right on the lake with orangutans swinging in the trees. The menu had a good selection of dishes and we were really impressed with how good the food was. It was really reasonable too - more than you would normally pay, however I wouldn't normally eat with Orangutans in my eyeline! For 5 meals and 5 drinks ( including 1 beer) it was ÂŁ35. We will definitely return.

The best place to eat and drink if you are staying in Sepilok. Great range of cold drinks - including an extensive cocktail menu. I tried the sunset mojito and classic margarita- both excellent. Tiger beer served cold. After having the char kueh teow with chicken (and chili) on the first night, I couldn’t resist having it again on the second night - freshly made, large portion and extremely tasty. My husband had a burger the first night which he thoroughly enjoyed. The second night he had the fried rice which he found to be on the small side.
Staff were warm, friendly and attentive.
A short drive from Sepilok Forest Edge Resort where we were staying and free parking inside the Sepilok Nature Resort when dining. We had tried to stay at Sepilok Nature Forest but they were fully booked.

Popped in here for a supper after a night walk and ate reasonably well,although the food very lightly spiced to cater to the Western palate.Hotel prices.
There’s cocktails on offer though our request to swop sprite for soda water wea apparently a step too far.
So, ok but hardly memorable.

Excellent variety of food and beverages available. For us it was the perfect blend of western and local. The spring rolls are a must order!
Cocktails were beautifully presented and made with care.
It is one of the only options in the local area but it more than makes up for this with the options available. Great place for lunch after visiting the orangutans and sun-bears.
Only 4 stars instead of 5 as service was incredibly slow if there were two or more tables seated. Looked like an understaffing issue as the staff there were multi tasking and doing everything they could. Opening times are a little unusual and worth noting last orders is 30 minutes before the scheduled closing time.

You have a great view of the lake and there's some nice ceiling decorations as seen in the photo below. The satay was really good. The other dishes range from average to good but not at the level of the satay. Staff were really attentive. Prices, especially drinks are a little expensive.

A choice of European or Malaysian food. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere with a great view overlooking a lake. Easy walking distance to the animal sanctuaries at Sepilok.

We were staying in the area where choices are somewhat limited but we'd found good reviews for the lake on TA. The setting is lovely with a large open air dining area overlooking the lake.
The choice of food was good with different dishes for different palates. Our whole group enjoyed their meals and the service was friendly and efficient.
