I return to this small restaurant for lunch about 4 times a year, the food is fantastic, not michelin star but well worth the detour, the cafe gourmand is worth a review of its own. Really friendly staff and charming spot.

On a pouring wet Sunday, having just visited the Pech Merle cave, we found La Roue and were so glad to have stopped there. It catered for everyone in our group of four, one of whom is a vegan, with delicious, freshly prepared food. The salmon and the magret de canard were probably the best we tasted in a fortnight's... Stopped in for lunch with no reservations. Luckily arrived just minutes before a tour bus pulled up. Service was very friendly, efficient, unhurried, informative, and observant. Our meals were without question the best of our month-long trip. Very high quality ingredients. All fresh. The best bread - finally real baguette not par bake! A dessert of unconstructed key lime pie... More

We stopped here after a tour of the cave just up the road. There seem to be about three or four restaurants in town. I had a vegetarian bagel and my boyfriend had to be the Italian bagel, which was kind of like a cheeseburger. He really liked his and I really liked mine. We had been in France for... More

La Roue was one of the few places open for lunch on a Sunday. They were exceptionally busy when we got there, but were working hard to accommodate everyone. For as small and out-of-the-way as the facility is, the food was amazing. We got the vegetarian bagel and Italian bagel. Both were wonderful. Significantly better than I expected. The server... We have eaten at La Roue four times now, and have had a lovely meal every time. The shaded terrace is very relaxing and the staff are friendly and attentive. I had the lamb rossini this time and have to say it was of the quality of a much more expensive restaurant. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection.... More

I'm normally not inclined to throw out 5 stars. I travel permanently for work, and have the occasion to dine very well in very good restaurants on a regular basis. The reason why I do it here is based on 3 significant elements, and not on the accommodation, lay-out or design of the place. First, the overall, very good quality... More

So busy! Frantic pace achieved by the staff, always with a smile. Restaurant is open to the world, on a sunny day or warm evening, it's a very pleasant environment. Food is of good quality- is it as good as the best nearby Cahors can offer for a tad more...probably not, but the overall competence of the local operation means... More

I loved this restaurant. We popped in one Sunday evening on the off-chance and they were able to give us a table on the basis that we only wanted a quick meal. The flexibility was brilliant - fixed prices for any combination of starter/main/desert - M and I both went for a starter and a desert, the kids did the... More

This lovely restaurant was recommended to us by a boat hire company from the nearby River Lot. The village itself is beautiful, and the restaurant has a lovely setting in the heart of the village. Menu choices were good, service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Portion sizes were quite large for us, but I'd rather they... More
