The full name is in the heading. Premises are in a long narrow old building. Service was quick & with a smile. The lunch dishes we have were tasty & large. Tip - Parking is easier in the service lane adjoining the railway and the rear entrance is well signed.

Found Sponge Cafe on Trip Advisor during our overnight stay in Levin and decided to give it a go. We ordered Pancakes, Hunger Buster and Bacon & Eggs, plus two coffees. Coffees came first and were very nice. We were left waiting quite a long time for our meals (we were the only ones in the cafe at the time).... More

Interesting decor, tables of various age and standard, a deck of cards required under one table leg so we shifted so coffees didn't finish up in our lap. Food was nice standard, the French Toast with Blueberries was delicious, the standard brekkie choices looked nice and food came out efficiently.

If you require a pit stop while driving through Levin, this is a quick stop that's worth getting out of the car for. They serve delicious pies, sausage rolls and cream donuts while serving delicious drinks and milk shakes. They offer a wide selection of cabinet food and other sweet treats and cold drinks too

There has been a recent change of owner after many, many years so it was with interest we went to have lunch. There has been some small changes to the menu but many of the old favourites were still there. What was noticeable was an increase in price. Sponge Kitchen was the place to go for a reasonably priced lunch.... More

The Sponge Kitchen is a great place to have a coffee and a meal with friends, or to pick up a roll, cake or sandwich for lunch. it's split into two sections, take away on the one side, and the eat in section on the other. There is ample parking off the main street, running parallel to the state highway,... More

We eat here every week and we always enjoy our visit. Great coffee and my personal favorite is the chicken salad.
