We came across this place by accident and as the outside looked very presentable we decided to have a well earned lunch as taking as break from decorating. Inside the layout is very clean , spacious , airy, light with a friendly welcome from the barman. The specials and menu cater for all tastes and it was difficult to make... More

Hadn't been here for a few years, but have to say the food is now wonderful. A nice balance between style and substance. If you love seafood try the skewered prawns, just yummy. My husband loved the bbq ribs. Good friendly staff attentive but not overbearing. All in all very, very good.

What a fantastic place. I was well impressed with The Hour Glass. As soon as we arrived, the staff greeted us and promptly showed us to our table. Drinks soon arrived and our order taken. The staff were very pleasant and the place had a lovely atmosphere. The menu would suit everyone. When the food arrived it was piping hot... More

We have visited this establishment three times and have not been let down apart from the mushroom & leek lasagne, which I can only assume that the chef did not taste it as was very dry and tasteless. Potentially it could be a lovely dish but alas was not enjoyable. However on the other two times we ate here the... More

There are plenty of Fine Dining or Pub Grub places in this area but the Hour Glass, in Sculthorpe Village - 5 minutes drive from Fakenham, positions itself as a mid-range restaurant. The food is all home cooked, delicious and plentiful, with a good selection of menu items and daily specials. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are friendly and helpful.... More

The only bad things i can say was that the restaurant was quiet and i didn't have room for dessert!! Right the good bits. When we arrived we were the pleased with the real ale and lager choices. The specials are clear to see. We were shown to our table and the staff were all very nice. The food all... More

Clean, good choice of food, service good, parking easy, but there are better restaurants in the area.

Description
Fanatasic restaurant slightly of the beaten track which was recommended by the manager of the The Sculthorpe Mill which you list (and is excellent as well. Ate there this weekend - owners are clearly trying to offer something a bit different that sits between the many "fine dining" estasblishments in North Norfolk and the cheaper pub grub. Really hits the spot and to be honest was far better than both the Globe and the Victoria (Well & Holkham) where I have dined recently. Please give the owners the recognition they deserve.
