Excellent food which was well presented. Waiters were very attentive but unobtrusive. The wine is expensive. I asked for a dessert from the bar menu because I preferred it to what was on the restaurant menu. It was not a problem and I was charged the bar price for it. Beautiful views of the Conwy estuary

The poorest quality burger I have ever had. Main content was probably offal with processed vessels and skin evident when dismantled. The taste was what you would expect when you saw this. Great surroundings and attentive staff don't compensate for paying £14.95 to eat this sort of thing. I went hungry rather than eat this rubbish. The menu was very... More

While staying at the Quay we had three evening meals here. All were well presented and of a high standard. It is good to see into the kitchen. There were slight changes to the menu each night, but maybe if it was a longer stay it would be a bit repetitive. Carl was as charming as ever with a great... More

We had lunch in the bar as we do regularly. The setting is really lovely but Guys get a grip on your service! Tables left uncleared for 40 minutes plus but staff had time to chat so there was opportunity to clear. Evening menus given out to us instead of lunch menus and then the same thing happened to the... I ate here last night. Whilst those serving me were very friendly and professional, the food was really over-priced and not very substantial. I had a vegetarian risotto which was tasty but a a very small portion and certainly not worth £17. I had some ice-cream for dessert which was also over-priced at just under £6 for a small portion.... Ate in the Quay dining room on Saturday. The service was very slow. We couldn't even get the menus (main food and desserts) for ages as the staff never made eye contact so you could ask them to get you a menu. Shame because it spoilt the evening a bit.

Enjoyed a nice burger in the within the hotel bar. Chose to eat there rather than in the restaurant as the grill room prices are completely over the top. Ate dinner at the local Castle view pub that serves good tasty affordable food. I would certainly recommend this venue as an alternative to the Grill room. Noticed other hotel guests... More

Visited over the Christmas period for an afternoon tea as a present for my family, it was very disappointing and really failed to meet the mark. Service was great and staff are nice but these are the only positive points from our visit. The afternoon tea was badly let down by the quality of the cakes provided. All of the... More

Love this hotel as a night off bolt hole & have had nice meals here in the past, but it has gone down in both content and cooking .. we had a very disappointing meal last Sunday, (the menu has always been quite unimaginative & restricted) the quality of the steak & burger were really bad last week .. we... Set on the banks of the Conwy Estuary, overlooking the historic medievil town of Conwy with a backdrop of coastal mountains, the Grill Room offers a fantastic dining experience. The Quay Hotel and Spa provides a contemporary yet stylish setting, discreet but attentive service and, of course, excellent food. The Grill Room is simply decorated with vistas across the water setting the scene, keeping to a subtle but plush palate, complete with comfortable seating and immaculate place settings. The mouth watering menu includes a large range of local, seasonal Welsh produce and cleverly created dishes, using fine ingredients and beautiful presentation. A choice of A La Carte or Table d’Hote is available.
