This fabulous restaurant, because without doubt it's more than a bistro, sits in Bonar Bridge having crossed over the Dornoch Firth on the A9 heading north. Just turn right staying on the A9 and within 50 the yards the Crannag Bistro is found on the left hand side of the road. We arrived in the region and had trouble finding... More

Locally source produce cooked to perfection in a location that is dear to our heart. Perfect in every way. The steaks are to die for and the choice of good wines complement the standard of this first class gem.

We spent a week in Bonar Bridge and were lucky enough to have this place right next door to us. How lucky were we! Spent two thoroughly enjoyable evenings sampling Ian and Kathy's food and enjoying their hospitality. The food was excellent on both occasions and my partner and I sampled confit duck for the very first time ... delicious.... More

We loved this restaurant. If ever we are in the area again we shall be dining there. Ian was a great host and very engaging. The menu was small but varied and what we had was lovely. So much so we have asked for one of the recipes. He has a great sense of humour, reflected I think in some... More

Owned by a food fanatic, this restaurant buys all of its food locally and cooks it with loving care. Great steak at reasonable prices and matching red wine.

Hosts were very welcoming, although with a slightly strange sense of humour. Food was good and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it did come across as quite expensive for what it was.

Arrived unbooked at 6pm and was made welcome by the owners. Good choice of interesting dishes and both my cheese souffle with chilli cream and the fish Thai green curry were superb. Definitely a place to go back to!

It was around 6.30pm mid-week and a friend and I decided to go out for something to eat. We noticed the Bistro was open in Bonar Bridge so we thought we might try it although someone had mentioned it was expensive, and we were not particularly looking for anything fancy. The welcome was friendly , the décor was inviting and... More

I had friends visiting from West Yorkshire and wanted them to experience some Highland Ceilidh music and this was the only venue on the Ceilidh tour that coincided with my itinerary, which also included The Signet tour of Glen Morangie distillery , just down the road in the afternoon. I booked to make sure we got in and we arrived... More

We were there early (earlier than our 6.30pm reservation and their first customers on a Thursday evening) but were accommodated with ease. All considerations were made for our family (we had 2 kids with us) to dine as smoothly as possible (coordinating starters with kids' main courses etc). The food was absolutely stunning. The pork belly with the rhubarb chutney... More
